Apple has just announced the always expected 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display at the Special Event. It’s totally similar to 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display and is the lightest MacBook Pro ever. Here’s everything you need to know about the new beast.
As the name says, Apple has added the Retina Display to 13-inch MacBook Pro and totally revamped it. The Retina Display features the resolution of 2560 x 1600, it’s the same that of 15-inch version. Along with the jump in the resolution it also features new display panel. This 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display has an IPS display panel which boasts better colors and wider viewing angles.
The internals of this powerhouse includes a 2.5GHz Core i5 CPU having dual-core architecture or dual-core 2.9GHz Core i7, both the CPU have the Ivy Bridge chipset. Alongside both of them have 8GB RAM.
The base model comes with 128GB SSD which has an upgradable option upto 768GB SSD. Like the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, Apple didn’t add any Nvidia graphics flavor to this 13-inch version. It will be featuring the Intel HD 4000 graphics to power the Retina Pixels.
Other additions include, MagSafe 2, 720p FaceTime Camera, 2 X Thunderbolt and 2 X USB 3.0 port. It’s an incredibly slimmer and lighter MacBook Pro, a worthy alternative over 15-inch Retina version.
The base model of 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display is priced at $1,699 (2.5GHz Core i5, 128GB SSD) this can be configured on Apple online store for more additions. The high end model is priced at $1,999 (2.5GHz Core i5, 256GB SSD). In case if you want to add the 2.9GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7, there’s extra $200 addition.
