Sony Ericsson in India has announced the launch of two new Android based smartphones Xperia Neo V and Xperia Pro for the Indian audience. With this the company has further expanded their mobile phone portfolio for the Indian audience.

Xperia Neo V is the upgrade version of Xperia Neo and Xperia Pro is the android Smartphone with a slide out QWERTY keypad.

P Balaji, managing director, Sony Ericsson India said

With a price starting at Rs 9000, our multi-tasking smartphones are the most affordable and feature rich Android smartphones at 1 GHz.

Both the smartphones Xperia Neo V and Xperia Pro feature the latest Google Android gingerbread 2.3 operating system with the regular features of the new generation Xperia smartphones that include Facebook inside Xperia, the Bravia engine and the upgraded audio player with the Xloud. And to keep thing in great motion both the devices feature a 1 GHz Qualcomm snapdragon processor with a dedicated graphics engine as well.

Apart from that both the devices have a 3.7 inch multi-touch reality display with Sony’s Bravia engine for better visuals.

Xperia Neo V has a 5 MP camera with LED Flash and auto focus which can shoot 720p HD videos at 30 FPS. The phone features a 1500 mAH battery, which the company claims to have 7 hour talk time for this smartphones. It has 32 MB of internal storage and its external memory is expandable up to 32 GB through a micro SD card. The phone is priced at Rs 17,500.

The Xperia Pro on the other hand comes equipped with a slide out qwerty keypad and features a 3.7 inches LED back-lit capacitive touchscreen. LCD display which is slightly smaller as compared to the display of the Xperia play and the Xperia Arc. The device also flaunts an 8 megapixel camera capable of recording 720p high definition videos. Xperia Pro is having the price tag of Rs. 23,995

The devices in India have specially been launched in collaboration with Airtel. And on the occasion of the launch of these handsets Airtel has announced free 500MB of  3G or 2G data on purchase of these smartphones for three months. Along with that the customers will also get 200 minutes of mobile television also on the purchase of these devices valid for two months.
