ZTE Warp

ZTE Warp from Boostmobile is a medium 1up level phone made available recently, focused broadly on VFM (Value for money) segment. The phone neatly comes into the category of middle range intelligent phones and hence consists of almost all the generic features; a phone of this segment should be possessing. Boasting of Android Gingerbread (version 2.3) and Qualcomm 1 GHz Processor, this device is quite remarkable. Lets take a brief look at the attribute set this phone offers.

  • Not a very costly phone (around $200), so within reach of masses, who are looking for descent feature rich phone without making big hole in their pocket.
  • High-end plastic body with rubbery finish at the back for comfort and reliable grip.


  • Camera response sluggish, in the sense that even after pressing the dedicated button for clicking snap, it takes couple of seconds for something to actually happen.
  • No front camera, so video chat is not possible.
  • Discount scheme available with this phone is only for new subscribers. Old subscribers can opt in for the scheme, but no discount shall be applicable.

With an in built GPS support, get turn-by-turn guidance whenever on the move. The GPS module present in the phone is guided by satellite system and can work anywhere on the planet. Other location-based features are also possible i.e. landmark in vicinity, ATM’s, etc.

This phone is only meant for CDMA networks.

Low cost alternative to high-priced Android Phones

This phone definitely stands advantageous over costly Android phones available in the market with nearly the same specs as such. In other words ZTE Warp is going to make competition tough, since unlike Warp many of the other phones (Android based) are available only on contract, which many prospective customers detest.

Although this phone’s debut price at the time of launch was $250, but soon it came down to $200 almost unexpectedly. Speculations are that the company didn’t get the kind of response they expected. Good part is that phone does not have a cheap look and customer response is nothing less than appreciative till now. Apart from one major observation (camera response average), the ZTE Warp stands good in every aspect.
