Concept Design: Camera Futura by Artefact


This is something really beautiful and innovative in the world of Cameras! Camera Futura envisions the future of digital photography. It proposes a platform that leverages the best of the DSLR and the mobile device worlds. It is a new architecture that combines the lens and sensor together into one wireless unit. Dedicated apps built around a mobile software platform facilitate taking the “perfect picture” without an advanced degree in photography. The picture will be more clear when see the video and “WVIL” which stand for Wireless Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens camera.

The WVIL Concept Camera is the imaginative idea of award-winning design team Artefact. Whereas touchscreen displays are rapidly attractive a mutual vision inside the world of digital cameras.

The patent-pending WVIL system takes the connectivity and application platform capabilities of today’s smart phones and wirelessly connects them with interchangeable full SLR-quality optics. It is the inevitable solution for photographers who expect the power of modern mobile devices but who also demand uncompromised quality.

Basically it is a wireless, nifty lens. Artefact describes that in the back of the lens there is a very large sensor as Artefact mention. So the camera back is fundamentally like a small computer, similar to an iPhone that offers communications and interface software.

The concept claims the camera frame can be held on a stand or by somebody else.


A few features include a monstrous 31.6 mega-pixel with full frame CMOS and the capacity to shoot 1920×1080 24p,, touch screen display, full high definition  cinema capability, wireless connectivity, well-suited with Canon, Nikon and Leica lenses over an connector.
