LG unveils High End Android Phone Optimus 4X HD at MWC 2012


It has been quite a busy year for LG at MWC 2012 in Barcelona. They already had launched their L series phones and now comes a phone that will be their flagship phone for at least a year from now. The Optimus 4X HD definitely looks promising and it shows!

LG Optimus 4X HD- Specifications

The 4X tag definitely comes from the fact that the phone is quad-core. Yep, it has a 1.5GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor that is capable of delivering great graphics and humongous processing power. HTC has also unveiled the phone HTC One X which boasts similar processor.

The Optimus 4X  HD has been designed to be a flagship phone and the specifications are simply great. The specifications are as follows:-

  • 1.5GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor having the 4 Plus 1 Technology that contains one extra core for battery saving purposes.
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 4.7-inch (1280 x 720) True HD (720p) IPS display with . The resolution is so high that browsing websites would be almost a desktop like experience.
  • 16GB of internal memory
  • NFC (Near Field Communication)
  • 8MP camera capable for 720p HD video recording
  • 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 3.5G(HSPDA), Wi-Fi802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot support
  • microUSB (MHL) v2.0, a proposed standard to connect handsets with each other
  • ULP GeForce GPU for all the heavy Gaming
  • Browser with HTML5, Adobe Flash support
  • 2150mAH battery
  • All this at a thickness of 8.9 mm!

The phone is built to perform. It comes preloaded with latest Android OS V 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich.

The phone looks expensive with dual metal rims running around the circumference of the phone. The screen is bright and colors crisp. Needless to mention, the touchscreen has capacitive technology. Another point to mention is that Quadrant benchmark has given the phone twice the score of the Galaxy Nexus. Now that’s what I call, blazing fast!

Expect to see this phone in Q2 in Europe and USA. The rest of the world may experience the beauty in Q3. The price, although has not officially been announced, it may cost £500 (About $800). Expect this beauty to thrash all records!
