HTC to hit Entry Level Smartphone Market with HTC Desire C

by -

HTC is now ready to debut the entry level smartphone market with its upcoming Android 4.0 smartphone named as HTC Desire C. The phone is all set to release in mid June and will be available in most of the countries. The entry level market, currently ruled by Samsung and Nokia with their few good phones will surely get a good competition from HTC Desire C.

HTC Desire C Specifications

  • 600MHz CPU, 512MB RAM
  • 3.5” capacitive display (320 x 480 pixels)
  • 5MP rear camera
  • 4GB storage, upto 32GB microSD card
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

HTC Desire C Impressions

HTC Desire C is powered by single core Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 CPU that is clocked at 600MHz. Alongside, it comes with 512MB RAM which will perfectly balance the multi-tasking as well as the Sense 4.0 GUI. The clocks should have been at least 800MHz or more. That would have made Ice Cream Sandwich along with Sense 4.0 work much better and even smoother.

Still there is no idea, why HTC has used this CPU with the Desire C, but it surely looks like they must have eliminated some of the sense transitions or elements to make Android 4.0 work better on it.

The 3.5inch screen comes with the stock resolution of 320 x 480 and has 165 ppi pixel density. The camera being 5MP competes closely to the mid-end level smartphones. Along with this, it comes with 4GB internal storage which can be expanded upto 32GB by using a microSD card.

HTC Desire C comes out of the box with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream  Sandwich). With such an entry level phone, HTC has managed to get Ice Cream Sandwich on it. Those who are on low budget and want to taste the Ice Cream Sandwich, HTC Desire C is right choice for them.

HTC Desire C Price in India

HTC Desire C will be available in both black and white color and will be expected to reach India by mid-June. There is no official word on the pricing yet, but HTC Desire C is likely to be priced below 13,000 INR.
