For all those, eagerly waiting for the latest offering of Google Android Operating System, your wait has finally came to standstill with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Google launched Android 4.1 Jelly Bean six month after it previous iteration Ice Cream Sandwich which was able to capture only 10.9 per cent of Android-based devices.

The Android Jelly Bean was released as the the fastest and smoothest version of Android yet. Also the fact that, Android 4.1 is optimized to deliver Android’s best performance and lowest touch latency make it a serious contender to dominate the mobile market.

The Jelly Bean was launched by Google to compensate the loss incurred due to Ice Cream Sandwich. This post, reviews some of  it feature in terms of speed, performance and how it is likely to pose a serious threat to the Apple iOS.

Let us, have look into some of the best of Android 4.1 Jelly bean features:

Project Butter

Google unveiled Project Butter, a major effort to overcome Android’s frequent problems with device lag. Project Butter lets the CPU and graphics run in parallel thus, making  the entire interface runs at 60 frames per second on sufficiently fast hardware.

Graphics are now triple-buffered to keep scrolling and transitions humming along, and the processor will swing into full gear the moment you touch the screen to keep input lag to a minimum. Thus, making your Android device even more responsive by boosting your device’s CPU instantly when you touch the screen, and turns it down when you don’t need it to improve battery life.

Interactive Notifications

The notification gets a revamp in Jelly Bean, now enjoy not just some text lines but pictures too and many more. Also the notification system will allow you do do some simple stuff without even going to the app which sent you the notification. The notifications just became very cool in an already cool feature!

Widgets and Home-screens

Android 4.1 introduces improved App Widgets that can automatically resize. As you place widgets on the screen, everything else automatically moves to make room. When they’re too big, widgets resize on their own. Interacting with your favorite apps and customizing your home screen has never been easier.

Google Voice Search

The iPhone Siri feature was really gimmick,  as it was one of the best voice recognition technology invented by Apple. But, not anymore with the Google Voice Search feature Android Jelly Bean is all set to challenge the iPhone Siri.

Android Jelly Bean lets you search the web with your voice, and it’s convenient for getting quick answers on the fly. It speaks back to you and is powered by the Knowledge Graph, bringing you a precise answer if it knows it, and precisely ranked search results, so you can always find out more.

Google Now

You wake up in the morning and unlock your device, Google Now will show you some information you might actually be looking for.

It tells you today’s weather before you start your day, how  much traffic to expect before you leave for work, when the next train will arrive as you’re standing on the platform, or your favorite team’s score while they’re playing.
