With last month’s release of 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, it looks like Apple is not done yet. While the Retina display fever is still hot, rumors have started floating about the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

Following the policy, Apple quietly discontinued the 17-inch MacBook Pro and instead replaced it with 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display. Followed to this, it looks like Apple is working on 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

While new rumors are emerging every day, there’s a new benchmark which has appeared online. The benchmark and its score exactly hint that a new MacBook device is in production. Looking at the benchmark score, one can easily justify it to be 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

The benchmark comes from ‘Geekbench’ and the benchmark scores lie between 13-inch MacBook Pro (2012) and 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display. The 13-inch MacBook Pro (2012) scores 5,000 and the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display scores 11,000 where as this unknown device scores 7,800. That clearly says, it’s the new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

The benchmark reveals that the unannounced 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display will be featuring an Intel Core i7-3520M Ivy Bridge processor clocked at 2.9GHz. It will be having dual-core architecture and 4 threads alongside.

13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display is expected to be launched in October. It is believed that Apple wants to catch the attention of back-to-school buyers with this new device.

15-inch Retina Display model is so over-priced that it is not affordable for many students. A smaller 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display will be an affordable alternative and will make its entry along with the season.

As the internal hardware will differ than the 15-inch Retina Display device, the pricing scheme will be lying in between the current 13-inch MacBook Pro and 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display.
