HTC M4

A cheaper and smaller cousin of HTC’s flagship device HTC One (M7) has leaked online. It is codenamed HTC M4 and the leaked picture by reputable evleaks shows the phone which follows the same design language as HTC One. No information is available on whether it will be using the same materials or not. It also comes with Beats Audio and features two speaker grills on the front.

The leak further added that the affordable brother to come with a 720p 4.3 inch screen powered by a dual core processor and 2 GB RAM unlike HTC One’s Quad Core processor. It will have the same Ultrapixel camera as in HTC One and will be powered by a 1700 mAh non-removable battery.

HTC M4 will come with 16 GB of internal memory and will ship towards the end of the second quarter with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. This would put its launch and availability within the next two months. The site posting its picture, PhoneArena, also stated that it will have 4G LTE capabilities.

In February, after the M7 or HTC One leaks, evleaks had suggested that HTC was working on two other phones codenamed M4 and G2. It said that M4 will be one tier below the HTC One, but still will be a premium Smartphone. It further added that M4 will be powered by 1.2 GHz dual core Snapdragon CPU with LTE support and running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean along with Sense 5.0. As far as the G2 is concerned, it will be an entry level Smartphone sporting a 3.5 inch doable screen with HVGA resolution, 512 MB RAM, 1 GHz processor and a 5 MP non-ultrapixel camera. It will run Android 4.0 ICS with HTC Sense on top.

As evleaks’ leaks have proven to be reliable and true, we see a good chance of HTC M4 being launched soon. The tradition of launching affordable variants of flagships was first followed by Samsung when it launched the Galaxy S3 Mini. You can read about the leak from PhoneArena here.
