Asus Zenbook, Transformer Pad Infinity official specs, features, USP


Asus has confirmed the launch of its 13.3 inch touch-enabled Zenbook Infinity. It is the world’s first Ultrabook to come with a lid and a touchscreen both lined with the Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. The design is pretty impressive and slim since the Gorilla Glass is fused directly to the Aluminium frame making it just 15.5 mm thick. It follows Acer with the lining of Gorilla Glass in the lids of their Aspire S3 and S7 notebooks.

Zenbook Infinity

The Ultrabook packs an Intel 28W dual-core Haswell processor, two USB 3.0 ports, GT3 graphics, SD Card slot, Mini DisplayPort and micro HDMI port. It also comes with a backlit keyboard. The company said that it is 14% thinner than the previous Zenbook models, and it is expected to hit the market in the fourth quarter of this year. These are just teaser specification and the full list of specifications will be made available later on.

Asus also announced their Transformer Pad Infinity with Tegra 4 System on Chip (SoC) at its core. It is the one of the world’s first mobile tablet/hybrid device with this chip and the second device in all over Nvidia’s Shield gaming console. It features 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Nvidia Tegra 4 has 1.9 GHz Cortex A15 CPU and 72-core GeForce graphics card on a chip.

It features a tablet hybrid design and allows the keyboard to be detached. The keyboard also features a touchpad along with the keys. Asus has yet to reveal the pricing and availability details.
