A few weeks after Moto X Smartphone was confirmed by its CEO, its specifications have been leaked by a Twitter leakster evleaks which has built a good reputation for leaking information about upcoming Smartphone before their official launch. Nothing much was known about the Smartphone except for its existence even after the official confirmation by Motorola.
As per the specifications leaked by evleaks, the Moto X will be a mid range device which will not be competing against the flagships Galaxy S4 or HTC One. It will be powered by a modest 1.7 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960 processor and 720p display. The screen size was not revealed in the leaked specifications by evleaks, but earlier rumors put the screen size at 4.7 inches.
The Smartphone will be powered by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. It will have a 10 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera and will be powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. The leaked specifications disappoints in many ways. The dual core processor and 720p display do not bring cheers especially when there were so many thrills after the official announcement. The same processor powers Xperia SP which is a mid range performer.
The 2 GB of RAM and cameras does bring some required flagship features for the Smartphone to survive, but the absence of upcoming Android 4.3 in the Smartphone is a little disappointing especially since Google and Motorola built up so much hype around this Smartphone. The Smartphone is bound to be a mid-range offering with the minimum required internals for it to be released as a mid range flagship. It might do well if it is priced well and significantly less than the Nexus 4.
To remind you, Motorola did say that its Smartphone will be a flagship and will compete with the flagships from other Android OEMs. This certainly raises the question of authenticity of these specifications which are not confirmed as of now. We suggest you to take this with a grain of salt even if this is leaked by a reliable source. We want the evleaks to be unreliable this time otherwise these specifications are going to disappoint many users. Moto X is set to be released this summer, so you won’t have to wait long before the official launch is upon us.
