Desire 200 will succeed Desire C budget Android Smartphone and differs only in terms of processor. The specifications are very basic even for a good entry level Smartphone of today’s standard. Here is what HTC has to say about its affordable HTC Desire 200:
You don’t have to pay premium prices to get an incredible HTC Smartphone. The HTC Desire 200 comes with our highest quality in-ear headset and Beats Audio for immersive music. An intuitive camera makes it easy to take and share photos, and the HTC Data Manager lets you keep up with your data usage so you stay within your budget.
According to a press release by HTC Taiwan, the Smartphone will be available from June 19th in its native country via telecom operator Taiwan Mobile for NT$4990 (USD 167) without a contract. It will be cheaper to contract. There is no information on its global availability or pricing. The price seems to be a bit more considering that the specifications are very rudimentary, and HTC could have priced it more aggressively if it is looking to target other emerging markets as well.
