Audible for Android updated with revamped design. Download now!

Audible for Android

Audible by Amazon is the biggest audiobook website in the world and its Android client app received a major update today. The interface and design has been totally overhauled, and it makes managing your collections and library management easier. The navigating experience has been enhanced, and a new chapter wise progress bar is available within the app.

The update brings the app from version 1.4.6 to v1.5. The design sports a bit more polished, sharp and more modern looking interface. Now there is also an option in the upper right to adjust the listening speed and share. Some things remained unchanged for good like tapping on the current playing book will flip between a larger cover and a cover with a title, author and narrator. There is also an option to go button free with more swiping options including swiping left to rewind, swiping right to fast forward, tap to play and long press to add a bookmark.

Audible for Android

Audible allows users to listen to their favorite books on the go with more than 100,000+ titles in the offering. One of the best features it offers is WhisperSync for Voice. If you have both Ebook and audiobook version of a book, you can start off reading/listening to the book wherever you left off last time. It works between the Ebook and audiobook version and also between all registered devices. This is unique to Amazon only, and no other book company matches the experience.

Here is a Change Log for Audible for Android v1.5:

  • Beautiful new design
  • Improved navigation
  • Simplified library management
  • Chapter-level progress bar in the player
  • Improved stability and performance
  • Version 1.4.0-1.4.6
  • Switch between reading and listening with Whispersync for Voice (compatible Kindle device required)
  • Ability to move Audible storage location when SD card is available
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements

Even though Amazon updates its Ebook and audiobook apps on iOS often, we are glad that Android has also started to get the attention now. The under-the-hood improvements also bring overall stability and performance. Amazon offers a free audio book to every new user that joins the Audible. So if you’re a bookwormbut do not find as much time to read, try to listen to the books and see if that satisfies your thirst. Download the updated app from Google Play Store now.
