Nexus 7 II is coming on July 31: rumored specifications, leaked images and videos

After Google’s announcement for the July 24 event with Sundar Pichai, there has been a barrage of leaks for Nexus 7 II tablet. The Nexus 7 successor, whose official name still remains a mystery, will be priced at $230 for the 16 GB version and $270 for the 32 GB version. It is not known whether the 3G version will be released or not.

A good number of images and a video have been sent out to Android Central by a person with access to the tablet. Another leak revealed that the tablet will feature wireless charging similar to Nexus 4 Smartphone and will also pack a SlimPort with support for Full HD output. Many of the rumored specifications have also been confirmed.

The tablet is expected to come with a 1.5 GHz quad core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro or Snapdragon 600), 5 MP rear camera, 1.2 MP front facing camera and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS. Previous rumors also said that 7 inch screen will be Full HD and tablet will be manufactured by Asus. It will come with 2 GB RAM and other usual connectivity options.

Another leak by Engadget having an internal document from US retailer Staples added that the retailer will get the Nexus 7 II stock on July 24 itself, which is the date of the event, and is not allowed selling it before July 31. It is not known about the tablet sales via Google Play Store. There are only speculations as to why this would be done, but an intelligent guess would reveal that Google might want to give some head start to its Play Store as compared to brick and mortar stores.

It might also be the case that Google starts taking pre-orders from after the July 24 event and starts shipping from July 31. The July 24 event by Google featuring Android and Chrome boss Sundar Pichai expects to bring the announcement for Nexus 7 II and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It will also be streamed live on YouTube.
