The iPhone is extremely simple and intuitive to use. The manual obviously gives all features of it but there are few simple convenience features that are often hidden. Many of power users might probably know most of these tips and tricks. But few casual iPhone users may not be exposed to these tricks, so here are top 10 tricks and shortcuts to help users make the most of their iPhone.

1: Save Any Image from Safari and Mail

Saving the image directly to camera album from the web- simply tap and hold the image for a couple of seconds. An action sheet will appear which will enable you to save the image. This image will be stored in Saved Photos library of Photos app.

2: Caps lock

To get the caps lock option just double-tap the Shift key, this also works for Number key. This is the simplest tip but many people aren’t aware of it.

3: Alternate Characters

If you want to type an umlauted character like “éîçåß” – just touch and hold the particular key and a popup of various version of the character appears.

4: Screenshot

To take a screenshot of your current screen, just hold the Home and sleep button. The screen will flash white with a camera shutter sound and the screenshot will be stored in camera roll.

5:  Delete Emails

In the Mail app and many others lists of items, you’re able to perform bulk and individual delete when browsing email. Simply click on Edit, check off the desired emails and then choose delete to perform bulk delete. To delete a single email- swipe your finger across the email and then press delete.

6: Set Parental Controls

Certain restrictions or parental controls can be done on your iPhone. You can block explicit lyrics, YouTube, Safari, iTunes or the App Store. Just go to General Settings and then click Restrictions.

7: Scroll to Top of Page

If you want to go to the top of a webpage or a long email automatically without scrolling, then just double tap status bar which includes the time, service bars, and battery status indicator.

8: Home Button Options

The convenient feature is that you’re able to set the function just by double-clicking the Home button. If you go to the Settings then to General then Home Button, you’ll find a few handy options.

9: Lock, Shut down and Reset

When your iPhone is locked the screen turns off but the app that was running at the instance continues to run. So to ensure that phone is using as little battery, always press the Home button before locking so that no app continues to run. To turn your iPhone off, press the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds then drag the red slider that appears.

To reset the iPhone – Go to Settings > General > Reset, here you can choose how and what you want to reset from home screen layout to network settings.

10: Register your Wi-Fi
