Now that the rush for Blackberry Q10 is over and Blackberry has already made the presence of its QWERTY felt in Blackberry Z10, it is time for consumer favorite QWERTY business phone manufacturer Blackberry to target affordable price bracket with its Blackberry R10. The consumers were put off by the pricing of Q10 being higher than Z10 in some markets and as per the new rumored leaks, the affordable Blackberry Q10 is nearing closer to seeing a launch very soon.
In the past Blackberry has launched different variants in its Blackberry Curve line so there is some positivity related to Blackberry launching an affordable variant powered by Blackberry 10 OS. A couple of new pictures have emerged of the handset strengthening the rumors that an affordable variant is in fact in the works. It is not yet clear when and where it will be launched but an intelligent guess can be made about its price which should be below than (hopefully) both Q10 and Z10 individually. No details are available for its availability but seeing that it targets affordable consumers, it might come to Asia and Europe sooner.
Here is a run-down on its specifications which are rumored:
- 3.1-inch display, 720 x 720 resolution
- 5 MP rear camera supporting up to 2560 x 1920 resolution photography
- Front facing camera
- 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage
- 1800 mAh non-removable battery
- Blackberry 10.1 OS
A few days ago another image in Red and White colored Blackberry R10 was released too which featured Curve inspired QWERTY keyboard. The black colored images recently leaked look more classy at first look but the complete review can only be given once it is officially announced. Previously details were leaked regarding a Blackberry phablet launching by year end.
The report in the past also added that 2-3 devices will be launched by Blackberry before year end. Out of these, two are already leaked – a 5 inch Phablet and an affordable Blackberry R10. If the report does come true, we will only be seeing at most one more leak from Blackberry for the rest of the year. This is a very limited market strategy seeing that Blackberry is facing tough competition and its quarterly results are well below expectation.
Only time will tell as to whether these limited couple of phones will be able to change the Blackberry future or not. Keep following us for more updates as and when they happen.
