Have you ever come across missing icons or white icons on your iOS devices? While you try to Jailbreak iPhone 4S using Absinthe, the software may display white icons or transparent icons for certain applications. The issue mainly affects Apple’s stock applications such as the Phone application, calendar etc. However, exact cause cannot be determined.
One reason can be installation of a package from Cydia. A simple trick is all it takes to fix the blank or missing icon dilemma.
To fix this problem, you need to download iWipe Cache from Cydia and you need to run that application. Application’s description:
IWipe Cache allows you to clear your SpringBoard Cache to ensure all images from any theme will work with WinterBoard. Because this WinterBoard is very out of date, it does not clear SpringBoard cache. What this application actually does is it clears your cache, allowing new masks and overlays to be applied to Icons.
iWipe Cache was apparently developed to fix WinterBoard problems, but since it does not have WinterBoard installed on every iPhone 4S, it is for sure that these blank icons issues are not due to this application.
Although respring fixes the problem temporarily but there is a full chance for the same problem to revert. Respring has not proven very effective. So, it is recommended to use iWipe Cache application as an option over a simple respring. iWipe Cache effectively clears the SpringBoard cache and allows all other images from any theme to work with the WinterBoard. As the WinterBoard is out of date iWipe cache clears all the cache stored making way for the new masks and overlays to be loaded, Hence your problem will be resolved.
