Fix: Touch Screen of iPod Touch Freezing or Not Responding

Apple has produced many world class products and iPod Touch is also one of the flagship product of the company. If you have one of this device and your iPod touch not operating as you expected or not responding, then this detailed tutorial will be a solution for your problem.

What are the symptoms can be solved with these tips? Here we go: If your device’s display is blank, unresponsive touch screen, apps closes suddenly or goes frozen. Follow the below steps to resolve your problem.

Step 1: Restart your iPod Touch

Turn off your device by pressing and holding the Wake/sleep button and a red slider is visible in the screen. Now slide the slider to turn off the iPod Touch after a few moments. Now press and hold sleep/wake button till you can see the Apple logo in the display.

If your iPod Touch is unresponsive, then you should press and hold the Home button Sleep/Wake button at the same time for minimum of 10 seconds to see Apple logo appears. Make sure that your device battery is charged properly.

Step 2: Recharge iPod Touch

When charging the battery, if the device is very low on power, it might take 2 more minutes to come out of the blank screen.

Step 3: Close Unresponsive App

If you think that any one of the app is responsible for not responding device then from the Recent Apps bar close the app (steps shown below):

  • In the Home screen press the Home button two times.
  • Tap on the app and hold.
  • When app starts jiggle, click the x mark to close the app, and click the Home button to stop the apps jiggling.
  • Now open the app again.

Step 4: Install Updated Software:

Sometimes old version of Software or iTunes cause the device, so updating iTunes software and device will be the remedy. Hence, check whether you are using the latest version of iTunes or not. If not, then download latest iTunes and install.

Now connect the device to iTunes and click on Summary tab to update the iPod Touch and follow the instructions to complete the procedure.

Step 5: Restore iPod Touch Software:

If all the above steps don’t work for you, then try restoring the iPod Touch by connecting it to iTunes and going to Summary tab in iTunes. There you may restore it by clicking on Restore button. Remember to take backup of the data by syncing iPod Touch to iTunes before restoring the device.
