HTC unveiled it’s One Series at the Mobile World Congress 2012 back in February. Later, HTC One X and HTC One V were launched in India by April. The monstrous HTC One X and the entry-level HTC One V have already gained much popularity due to their extra awesome features and much affordable price tag.
HTC One S is a mid end Android flavor from HTC which lies between HTC One X and HTC One V. The hardware specs of HTC One S are carried forward from last generation phones.
Earlier HTC One S was expected to hit Indian shores by May, but it looks like HTC had different plans. HTC Sensation is performing very well in the Indian markets and this might be the reason for HTC One S delay. As HTC One S resemble HTC Sensation it was reported that HTC was waiting for HTC Sensation stock to get over.
HTC One S features dual core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz along with Adreno 225 GPU. It comes with 1GB of RAM for smoother multitasking. It has a whole big 4inch screen with Super AMOLED display panel and a 8MP camera sensor along with VGA front camera. The cherry on the cake is Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and HTC Sense UI which comes out of the box.
HTC One S was spotted online and is up for pre-orders on The Mobile Store. The pre-order price quoted by The Mobile Store is Rs. 33,000/-. The Mobile Store reports the availability from 8th of June which might be the same for offline buying too.
Looks like HTC One S is debuting on the right time. The MRP of 33,000 INR seems to be perfect if you take a look at the specifications. However, release may bring up a different story and street prices will be much less than MRP.
