This is not the first time we have heard rumors about HTC Desire 200, but this is the first time we have its visuals and detailed specifications. HTC’s Desire C successor Desire 200 has been spotted by Vietnamese site thegioididong.com. Desire 200 was first rumored in March on a certification site and the present leak confirms those rumors and specifications.
According to the leak, Desire 200 will come with a 1 GHz single core processor and 3.8 inch HVGA display. The entry level Smartphone will be powered by 512 MB of RAM and 1400 mAh battery, and it has 4 GB of internal storage along with memory expansion Micro SD card slot. It will also pack a 5 MP rear facing camera and will run on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
As can be seen from the images, it will sport an earpiece section at the front which is inspired by HTC One. Other controls are similar to the regular HTC Android Smartphones. The back of the Smartphone has a striking resemblance to HTC Desire C.
No pricing or availability details were released or leaked as of now, but we expect it to be priced very aggressively and competing with the likes of Galaxy Neo, Young and Fame Smartphones from Samsung and might possibly be released in emerging markets. A video shows the Smartphone in action and will help if you understand Vietnamese.
The Smartphone comes with below standard specifications for the today’s entry level devices and will possibly target people on a strict budget. With tough competition from the local Asian and Indian companies in the entry level segment, HTC will have to price it aggressively in order to find any takers for its Smartphone Desire 200.
