The thinnest Smartphone from Huawei and possibly in the world has leaked in a press render. Huawei Ascend P6 is expected to come with a 1.5 GHz Quad core processor in a 6.18 mm thick chassis. This is not the first time that this Smartphone has leaked. However, this press render is very similar with the previous leak from evleaks.
As per a report published on Engadget, Huawei Device Chairman Richard Yu mistakingly revealed on Weibo that the leaked device is actually from the P-series and it will be launched on June 18 at a Huawei event in London. The post was taken down soon after.
From the leaked latest images, it can be seen that the Huawei P6 has a metal frame and running the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with Huawei’s Emotion UI on top. The Smartphone does not have any home screen physical button underneath its display in both the leaks. Android Authority is reporting that it will possibly come in Pink, White and Black colors at its official launch event.
As per the previous reports and leaks, the Smartphone will come with 4.7 inch 720p HD display and will pack a 2 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and Android Jelly Bean with Emotion UI on top. There were reports for a China-specific version as well which will come with a dial-SIM functionality and pack 32 GB of internal storage. The report for the China specific variant was outed by Engadget.
It can be seen from the images that even though the Smartphone will be thinnest, it won’t have the smallest bezel. A lot of space above and below the screen is wasted in the form of useless screen estate, which could have been used for home screen button placement or front facing speaker grill.
