In past three months, Facebook has undergone many changes; let it be an improved layout or introduction of new features. In the month of September, Facebook added new Subscribe feature to every profile. This feature directed more towards people, who want to build their audience with more than just their friends, enabled them to share their updates with public.
Now as though it wasn’t enough, Facebook has now launched Subscribe button for web sites. It is just like any other social plug-in, which will allow visitors of web sites to subscribe to its updates.
The “Subscribe” button works just like the famous “Like” button on Facebook. Once clicked, user will start getting all the updates of that web site and the same subscription activity will reflect in that user’s recent activities.
Let us now see how to add this wonderful button on web site:
“Subscribe” button in XFBML version:
<fb:subscribe href="https://www.facebook.com/zuck" width="450"></fb:subscribe>
The only thing you need to change is the link, which is currently pointing towards Mark Zuckerberg’s profile.
For HTML5-compliant markup:
“Subscribe” button in iframe version:
frameborder="0" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:450px;"
Many companies like Absolute Radio, AllThingsD, ANSA.it, The Daily Beast / Newsweek, Forbes.com, GQ Italia, The Huffington Post, Mashable, Ministry of Sound, msnbc.com, NME.Com, TechCrunch, TIME.com, TODAY.com, and washingtonpost.com have already added this button to their web sites and Facebook is expecting more addition in coming week.
