As of this day dual core processors were in the realm of desktops, laptops and tablets. LG has now heralded a new beginning in the world of Smart phones with the launch of LG Optimus 2X. As like any other smart phone it is packed with jaw dropping features but the real clincher is that it is armed with the power of 1GHz dual core Tegra-2 processor. Along with more powerful multimedia features, the LG Optimus 2X’s high-performance Tegra 2 processor makes for faster, smoother web browsing and applications and lets users multitask with virtually no screen lag.
This corresponds to a System on Chip design and hence is designed to be a bit more power efficient. The battery performance still comes under a bit of scanner since the capacity is a mere 1500mAH. But anyway, with the value packed features at your fingertips it might not yet prove to be any dampener.
Other features include dual cameras (8 and 1.3 Megapixels Rear and Front), 4 inches capacitive Multi touchscreen , 8GB built in storage expandable to 32GB via microSD card, HDMI mirroring and ability to capture full 1080p video. HDMI mirroring expands content on external displays to full HD quality. The LG Optimus 2X can connect wirelessly to any DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) compatible digital device such as HD TVs for a console-like gaming experience taking full advantage of the phone’s HDMI mirroring, accelerometer and gyro sensor.
It will have Android OS, v2.2 Froyo, upgradable to v2.3 – Gingerbread which will make it one step ahead to other competitors also.
The phone is scheduled to be launch in Korea first and then it might be available in US and EU. Price band is yet to be declared.
The phone was announced in last month of last year and is expected to be release in first quarter of this year. It will be available on T-Mobile network in USA.
