Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) is what power’s the phone today! People are just keen and curious to get the Gingerbread update on their phone to make the most of it. Geeks using unofficial ROM’s such as Cyanogen Mod 7 can get a feel of Gingerbread on their device. But here is the list of phones which will be running on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) ROM at the end of the year.

HTC Incredible S
Starting this month, HTC officially announced the Gingerbread update to HTC Incredible S via OTA updates, lots of users are already enjoying the Gingerbread flavor on their phone.
One of the promising device by HTC, got official announcement which says Gingerbread will be received on Thunderbolt by second quarter of this year.
LG Optimus 2X
World’s first dual core phone (also Genius World Record holder!) still runs of Froyo (Android 2.2) being the GWR holder, the phone is in the must have list of Gingerbread. Well, there’s no official announcement yet but its is highly expected that the phone will be getting the update somewhere in June – July of this year. T-Mobile USA users of Optimus 2X may be receiving the update even more soon.
LG Optimus One
LG has officially announced, all LG Optimus One smartphones will be getting Gingerbread update soon which includes Optimus S on Sprint, the LG Vortex on Verizon, the Optimus U on U.S. Cellular, and the Optimus V on Virgin Mobile, the Optimus T on T-Mobile etc. However no official release date is announced yet LG just says Details of the upgrade schedule will be announced locally in due course.
HTC Desire Z
Yesterday, HTC officially announced the Gingerbread firmware for HTC Desire Z. People deeply hated HTC for not giving the Gingerbread update to Desire Z while the Desire and Desire HD lineup. HTC Says, the update will be coming before the end of June.
Samsung Galaxy Ace
Covered recently, Samsung Galaxy Ace has got the unofficial Gingerbread update as of now. After the Galaxy S line up it is expected that the Galaxy Ace will be receiving the update soon as the current leaked software seems to be directly from Samsung.
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
Launched with Donut (Android 1.6) the phone was upgradeable to Eclair (Android 2.1) but Sony recently on its blog post said Xperia X10 will be getting Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3) till late end of second quarter or start of third quarter of this year. Being weak in hardware as compared to other phones right now, Xperia X10’s dead end will be the Gingerbread.
