It was last month when Google announced its all new and most awaited version of popular mobile operating system Android. After Gingerbread and Honeycomb the next version was numbered 4.0 with codename as Ice-Cream Sandwich. Compared to predecessors Ice-Cream Sandwich brings lot’s of more features and better performance on your device. Already announced you might me well aware of all the features in the Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich).
Not all the phones that supports Android will come in the list of devices getting Android 4.0. Don’t even expect any hope from these old device to support ICS. If you are lucky enough your device may end up in the list to get the update. As of now HTC fifth largest smartphone manufacturer has announced its first wave of phone which will be receiving Android 4.0 Ice-Cream Sandwich update. These phones include,
- HTC Vivid
- HTC Sensation
- HTC Sensation XL
- HTC Sensation XE
- HTC Rezound
- HTC EVO 3D
- HTC EVO Design 4G
- HTC Amaze 4G
These are the devices which will get ICS update in the first wave. If your device is among these you are damn lucky. According to HTC’s update on Facebook page, this update will arrive to the supported phones in early 2012 through close integration with the service providers.
This is the first wave of the phones, more might be coming up later so if your’s is not here don’t worry may be it will end up in the next list. Not every but all we can confirm is, phones having dual core CPU will have first priority to get the update others may or may not get the update. Devices having lower clocks (even less than 1GHz) will not get this update at any cost. Even though if it is ported don’t expect any high quality performance from your phone.
Most of the devices mentioned above are not yet released here in India so for Indian users ICS update will hit Sensation, Sensation XE, Sensation XL and Evo 3D only.
