Nokia Pureview 808 has been the only Smartphone till now with a camera that could best all the entry level digital cameras out there and was even comparable if not better than most DSLR’s available. Now there are rumors that Nokia might be bringing the deadly 41 MP camera to a Windows Phone 8 Smartphone as well. This is a great news as Symbian on Nokia Pureview 808 was a put off for everybody.
As per the latest report by My Nokia Blog, Nokia will be bringing the 41 MP camera goodness to Windows Phone 8 along with the enviable Optical Image Stabilization feature as well. The camera will also have a Xenon and LED flash and will offer the option of a variable +/- aperture.
The display on Nokia EOS will have a resolution of 1280 x 768 display and will possibly be an Amoled Display. The Smartphone will be backed by a 2000 mAh battery and will reportedly include Micro HDMI out port, FM Transmitter and Expandable Micro SD card slot. There are no reports of 2k or 4k video recording, but Nokia might think about the same since the camera is powerful enough to support it.
The reports adds there might be two models of the EOS differing only in processors. One of these will come with a dual core processor while the other will pack a hefty Snapdragon 800 Quad Core processor. Even though Nokia is working on both, it might release only the dual core variant since the quad core is draining battery pretty quickly. Microsoft is expected to bring support for quad core devices later this year and Nokia EOS might be the lucky debutante if the battery drain issue is solved before then.
The Nokia EOS, which will come with a much more detailed camera UI than on Nokia Pureview, will be exclusively available via AT&T in the US for first three months and will then go global. The report adds that it was ready around Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 but was then postponed for unknown reasons. We suspect that it could be the potential battery drainage problem with quad core processors on Windows Phone, so no prize for guessing.
We will keep an eye out for more. Till then leave your feedback and comments below and stay tuned for more updates.
