You may not find this as the cheapest Android tablet as there are lots of other, either non branded (Chinese) or low-priced branded tablets available in the market. But these tablets are powered by older versions of Android thus lacking all must have features like Android Market or Google services. That’s why these tablets are not much in demand by the masses. However Novo 7 inspite of being a cheap tablet doesn’t lie in this category.
MIPS Technologies and Ingenic Semiconductor has announced Novo 7 which is a cheapest and World’s first Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) powered tablet.
Novo 7 Hardware Specifications
Novo 7 is powered by MIPS based XBurst CPU which is clocked at 1GHz, single core though! I expect it to have 512 MB RAM alongside. With a perfect 7 inch, it has capacitive multi-touch display making Ice-Cream Sandwich look much more prettier.
The operating system as we know is Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich), the fastest Android OS, till date. It ia a 3G tablet along with WiFi capabilities – so you won’t find any connectivity issue. The other connectivity options include, USB 2.0 and HDMI 1.3 for HDTV output.
Storage is not an issue since there’s a microSD card slot ready for storage expansion. It does come with two cameras (front and rear), the front camera is for video calling while the rear one is 2MP and that’s for snapping photos and video recording. Your task’s backup is provided by 4000mAh battery which lasts long for 30 hours on stand-by and 8 hours for video playback.
Novo 7 Availability & Price
