It has been a long time since Apple has been dominating the touch screen music player segment with its Touch music player. But the dominance is going to come at an end, soon. The Korean Giant Samsung has finally decided to launch its S series of players which will directly compete with Apple iPod Touch.
You might be confused and wondering that Samsung already has many Smartphones to its name then why new players in the mobile market? Well, these aren’t phones but Android devices who have got their key feature “calling” removed from them and hence categorized as music players.
The new Galaxy S WiFI player 4.2 features a 4.2 inch WVGA screen with two touch sensitive keys below it accompanied by a physical key at the center. The device runs GingerBread version of Android making it a an awesome deal. It sport two cameras, rear camera of 2MP and front one of VGA quality for video chatting. The connectivity menu of the device holds Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0 and WiFI 802.11 b/g/n.
The 1500MaH battery lasts for long hours as the calling function is missing. The WiFi player would be made available in two variants 8GB and 16GB. What keeps these Android devices ahead of other touch screen players is expandability of memory, expandable up to 32GB via a MicroSD card.
