Siri was blessed for iPhone 4S users only, no other device ever got it officially from Apple, not even iPad 2 though it included same internal hardware as iPhone 4S. Developers repeatedly made attempts to port it on old devices but due to some copyright issues couldn’t get the job done.
Back in December, a stable solution for porting Siri on old devices ended up, dubbed ‘Spire’. It was available for free but fetching tokens from iPhone 4S to run it was a long way. Those who did this really long process did get Siri running on their devices but others couldn’t, either due to the long process or due to lack of iPhone 4S for the process.
Those who still want to get Siri, here’s another alternative named Sara. Developed by ‘Nobita’, Sara nearly brings the complete Siri experience on your device as it also preserves the Siri user-interface. It also includes support for 37 lanuages.
Sara is supported by the following,
- Original iPhone
- iPhone 3G
- iPod Touch 2G
- iPhone 3GS
- iPod Touch 3G
- iPhone 4
- iPod Touch 4G
- iPad 1
- iPad 2
So unlike Spire, it is not necessary that you must be running iOS 5.0.1. Using Sara will completely give you the Siri experience but as it is still in the developmental stage it cannot respond to the ‘Location Services’ related questions perfectly.
Its a kind of App but featured in the Cydia store that means you must have Jailbreaked device and lucky you all the iDevices till date can be jailbreaked, so if you have not yet, do jailbreak it first and follow the steps below,
