Search Engine Optimization Recommendations and Tips for Blogger

search engine marketing

Provide your readers with what they want

Your website visitors need information about what exactly they are searching for or want to learn. So you have to provide the high-quality content on your pages especially your homepage. Your home page is the single most important things to look right.

Suppose your pages contain beneficial information, of course, this content will attract many of the internet users; I mean your website visitors and entice webmasters to link your site too.

When you create such information rich quality content, you must have to write pages clearly & accurately describe your topic. You should be very careful about the words when you use in the article, try to put such words in your posts which generally users type while searching your content.

Write short or medium size sentences

It is always a good idea to write posts in short or medium size sentences. If you write long sentences, readers will get lost. You can always break long sentences into shorter ones. Find a balance for all your sentences, and if you use the SEO Yoast plugin, it offers tips for Flesch Reading Ease, Passive voice, Consecutive sentences, Subheading distribution, Paragraph length, Sentence length, Transition words and more. Follow them.

Add ALT keyword for image

Google’s crawler dont understand what’s inside the image. You need to tell what’s inside the image. The best way to do is to use ALT attributes for images. When you use them, they also show up in search result for pictures.

Correct English

Even though Google has never said, posts with a lot of grammatical errors rank low in Search engines. It’s logical. No one wants to read a post if they keep thinking that there is something wrong with the English. I have personally increased the traffic of websites with poor grammar by fixing its English. Make sure to use tools like Grammarly Pro for best results.

H1, H2, H3 and Word Limit

It is always a good idea to use these tags. If you have one H2 with more than 300 words under it, it’s not a good idea. It is always best to use H1, H2, H3 tags to categorize the content of the posts.

Linking Site

Linking your site with other websites help, Google’s crawlers, I mean search spiders to find your website or blog a little easier. It provides better visibility to search engines.

And yes, Google crawlers are well-trained in distinguishing the natural and unnatural links. Natural links to your website development as a part of the dynamic nature of the web when other sites find your content valuable and think it would be helpful for their visitors.

Unnatural links to your site place their especially to make your site look more popular to search engines. Remember natural links are only useful for the website or blog indexing and ranking. So focus more on natural links. This will give you a better response in the future.

Internal Linking

It’s another factor which many bloggers ignore. As content keep getting old, the only way to pass on ranking is to link from newer posts. That way not only you give a hint to Google that they are related, you also make sure to increase your internal ranking. Also, visitors get to read them which otherwise they will never discover.

Update Old Articles

Contents not only get old, but they also get outdated. You may have talked about a service or software in the post, but they dont exist any more. Its always a good idea to keep updating your old post with new updates, remove broken links and change their date when you change it.

Easy Accessible Website/Blog

If possible then try to use a text browser, such as Lynx, to examine your website because the spiders of most search engines see websites much as Lynx would. But if new web techniques such as JavaScript, Cookies, session IDs frames, DHTML or Macromedia Flash has been used then they keep you from seeing your entire site in a text browser, then spiders may have a little trouble crawling it. So, try to use them as little as possible.

Mobile Website

This generation consumers content on phone more than ever. Make sure your website or blog is optimized for mobile so they dont have a problem accessing or reading content on their phone.

Never Stuff Keyword or make Crawler only posts

Many people I have seen, filled their web pages with a list of keywords, you can’t call crawlers to your site with such silly work. Even I have seen people trying to attempt “cloak” pages or  “crawler only” pages. Sometimes we put many links in our web pages or something text that we don’t think is good for a visitor to see, Google Spider considers those links and pages deceptive and may ignore you website.

We hope these tips will help you to perform Search engine optimization for your blog, specially if you are just starting.
