With Microsoft having unveiled last week at the Windows Phone VIP press conference, the three new manufacturers that shall produce the Windows Phone 7. The manufacturers are Acer, Fujitsu, and ZTE.
Acer very recently revealed the Acer W4, its first mobile device to come with the Windows Phone Mango OS. Though the phone appears to be of the Chassis 1 specification similar to the first generation Windows Phones, it has got a decent set of specifications and may pack a punch or two. A 1 GHz processor ensures it belongs to the smartphone category with a 3.6 inch Touchscreen and a screen resolution of 480 × 800 pixels.
The Acer w4 Windows Phone comes with an auto-focus 5MP camera with Digital zoom features for that is the basic requirement for a phone to run the WIndows Phone OS. It has also got satisfying multimedia features like a Video player/recording facility, a Music Player, a 3.5 mm jack with 8GB internal memory and also having support for external memory.
Its great on the networking front with facilities like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE, and USB connectivity. Watch out for more details as its price and availability is yet to be announced by Acer.
With Nokia aiming to churn out a new Windows Phone mobile device every three months from the launch of the first device and with the increasing support for this mobile OS from Microsoft, Windows Phone OS seems to be a winner all the way.
