Angry Birds wont run on Nokia Lumia 610, Rovio works on a fix

Nokia Lumia 610 is a smartphone launched by Nokia recently and the fourth entrant in to the Lumia family, after Nokia Lumia 800, Lumia 710 and Lumia 900. It sports low specifications compared to the other Lumia phones, primarily its RAM memory (256MB). To their surprise, Nokia Lumia 610 users discovered that they just couldn’t install Angry Birds on their phone and enjoy smashing birds. Reason: Insufficient RAM memory.

However, this isn’t a panicky situation for Lumia 610 owners as there is every possibility of a fix. Rovio, the makers of Angry Birds, have jumped to action and started work on releasing a updated version of Angry Birds which would work for phones with lesser RAM memory (256MB). With this being underway, users who were earlier a bit worried can now heave a sigh of relief.

Angry Birds are not alone. Even Tango Video calls, Skype and Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 couldn’t be run on the Nokia Lumia 610 citing the same reason. The Nokia Lumia 610 runs on Tango, the low-spec version of Windows Phone 7.5 OS, also known as Mango and comes with the minimum RAM memory requirement of 256MB. This might initially pose a problem for apps/games designed for smartphones higher than 256MB RAM but the manufacturers will have to work on a fix and release separate Tango versions of their product as there are many to-be-launched Windows Phone devices supposed to be running the Tango operating System.

Nokia has inked a deal with Rovio to fast-track Angry Birds Space and other games under the banner to its Windows Phone handsets so a fix can be expected to happen quite soon.

Nokia Lumia 610 is expected to arrive in India sometime in June 2012. You may want to check out Nokia Lumia 610 and its complete list of specifications and features.
