Samsung’s strategy for tablet market includes technology madness. Taking the tablets to a whole new level, Samsung announced two new successors named ‘Galaxy Tab 2 10.1’ and ‘Galaxy Note 10.1’. Galaxy Note 10.1 is giant successor of the not so powerful tablet-cum-phone. Both lying in the same segment, there’s some minor but should be considered difference between the both so it is difficult to choose which tablet do you exactly require.
Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is the second generation of the 10.1inch tablet which was brought up by Samsung last year. Featuring next generation hardware it comes with Dual Core 1GHz CPU alongside with 1GB RAM a little less of 3.15MP camera along with secondary and 3G connectivity. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) along with TouchWiz UX UI from Samsung.
Galaxy Note 10.1 is the elder brother of Galaxy Note Smartphone. It is powered by Dual core 1.4GHz CPU and 1GB RAM. Even it comes with the same 3.15MP camera and a better (2MP) secondary camera, 3G connectivity, Android 4.0 but without TouchWiz UX UI (no reports stating as such).
Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is just like another tablet in the market today which is mainly focused at running applications, productivity, Internet surfing and also for the entertainment factor. Where as Galaxy Note is different, even if it runs applications and also can be used for the same purposes it serves an additional purpose which is note taking. Galaxy Note 10.1 comes with a stylus which can be used for handwritten or physical input method same like the Galaxy Note smartphone.
Samsung claims that it has developed Galaxy Note 10.1 for the artistic department. Artists still relying on drawing pen tablet can replace it with a handy, portable and powerful tablet making their tasks even easier. Additionally Galaxy Note 10.1 will come with many handwriting recognizing apps which Galaxy Tab 2 won’t be getting. Samsung didn’t provide any integrated solution to carry the stylus with the tablet which is most annoying thing, so you need to carry stylus separately which can be easily lost.
If you are among them, you should surely go with the Galaxy Note 10.1, otherwise Galaxy Tab 2 can also do your work since the the hardware difference isn’t much. It will also depend upon the the price factor and the capacity that you will need as Galaxy Tab 2 comes in 16GB and 32GB variant while Galaxy Note 10.1 comes in 16GB, 32GB and also 64GB variant.
