Overview

The library spans illustrations, clipart, vector graphics, 3D illustrations and animated illustrations. PNG and SVG downloads, together with the Mega Creator editor, give users a way to tailor artwork before exporting it. The editor can recolor, change and rearrange illustrations made from separate pieces, which is more useful than a library that only offers fixed artwork. Icons8 says its styles are designed to stay consistent, helping assets from the same style work together.

Key features

Artwork and formats

Vector graphics are available in SVG, while animated illustrations can be provided as Lottie JSON, Rive, After Effects projects, GIF or MOV. The Illustrations plan names a narrower set of animation exports—JSON, After Effects project and GIF—and includes SVG and large PNG for vectors, plus FBX with textures. That mix serves projects that need several kinds of artwork, though users should check the plan’s specific formats against their workflow.

Integrations and access

Plugins cover Figma, Google Docs, Webflow, Photoshop, Illustrator, Miro and Lucid. The API can integrate illustrations into an app or website, and Icons8 says its engineers can help with integration. These options make the service relevant beyond a standalone design workflow. Icons8 also lists Pichon and Lunacy desktop apps for Mac and Windows, Lunacy for Linux, and Face Swapper and GenYOU for iOS and Android.

Support includes a Help Center, forum and contact support. Icons8 says it began in 2012, has 4 million users and operates without venture capital; those company details do not change the practical question of whether its assets and terms fit a project.

Pricing

Ouch! uses a freemium model, with a free plan and a seven-day trial. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and provides free illustrations, but free use requires attribution and is limited to bitmap format. Icons8 says its products are available at no cost for open-source projects. That makes the free option suitable for trying the library or for projects that can accept those conditions, but not for users who need uncredited vector assets.

The Illustrations plan has custom pricing, billed monthly or yearly, with a 20% saving on yearly billing. It includes 25 downloads per month; each additional illustration costs $0.80 and is billed on the next bill. Paid use includes lifetime use without attribution, and unused downloads roll over. The plan lists one seat per account, so it is not a shared team subscription; teams are asked to contact Icons8. The download quota is a meaningful constraint for frequent asset selection, even with the option to pay for overages.

AI and graphics also has custom pricing, billed monthly or yearly with a 20% saving on yearly billing. It includes everything in Illustrations, 100,000 AI credits (about 500 generated illustrations), AI generators and image editing, 100 icons and MCP access, 50 photos, and Mega Creator AI and hand-drawn graphics. It suits buyers who need those additional graphics and AI tools, but its credit allowance is finite.

Ultimate has custom pricing on monthly or yearly billing, with a 20% yearly saving. It includes everything in AI and graphics, 1 million AI credits (about 5,000 generated illustrations), and unlimited graphics. That higher allowance is aimed at heavier use; the one-user account term still matters for teams. Paid plans include rollover for unused AI credits as well as downloads.

Platforms

Ouch! is listed for Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web and Windows, alongside API and extension access. The named desktop and mobile apps add specific routes into the wider Icons8 product set, while the plugins and API are the more direct options for bringing illustrations into design tools or a product.

Who it's for

Ouch! is a strong fit for individual designers and product teams that need adaptable illustration assets, several export formats, or integrations with design tools and apps. The free plan can work when attribution and bitmap output are acceptable. Buyers who need vector files without attribution should consider a paid plan, while teams should clarify account arrangements with Icons8 before committing.

Pros and cons

Pros: Mega Creator can rearrange and recolor component-based illustrations, giving designers a way to customize assets before download.
Pros: Animation exports, design-tool plugins and API access suit workflows that reach beyond static image downloads.
Pros: Paid plans remove attribution, and unused downloads and AI credits roll over.
Cons: Free use requires attribution and bitmap format, ruling it out for some vector-based or uncredited work.
Cons: The Illustrations plan allows 25 downloads a month before $0.80 per extra illustration, which can add cost for active users.
Cons: Each account is for one user, so teams need to contact Icons8 rather than assume the listed plans cover multiple seats.

Alternatives

For a broader stock-asset comparison, browse Stock Illustration Websites or Stock Vector Libraries. Choose Adobe Stock if a paid service with a free trial and standard-asset plans better matches your needs. Bigstock is another option, with a free plan and paid image allowances starting at 5 images per day for 79.00 USD per month. Yay Images offers a freemium alternative with web access and a 50-credit option at 50.00 USD per month as a one-time payment. Choose Pixabay if a free media library is the priority; full-resolution photo and video downloads require sign-up. Blush offers thousands of free illustrations and unlimited downloads on its free plan. DrawKit has a free Basic plan with unlimited free content and no account required, while its Pro plan costs 79.00 USD per year. Storyset is a free option for personal and commercial projects, with attribution required and modifications allowed. GetIllustrations may suit developers wanting a free API allowance of 1,500 calls per month, with premium assets shown as watermarked previews.

Verdict

Choose Ouch! if you are an individual designer who values editable illustrations, multiple animation formats and routes into design tools or an app. The combination of Mega Creator and broad integrations is its clearest strength. Look elsewhere if you need uncredited vector work at no cost, a predictable high-volume download allowance, or multiple seats without a separate team arrangement.
