Overview

1up is a questionnaire-response platform for sales teams handling customer requests and Infosec teams completing security reviews. Its strongest fit is a team with a body of trusted internal material to reuse and several people involved in drafting, review and approval. It is less compelling for occasional, low-volume work if the paid questionnaire allowances or usage charges do not fit the workload.

Key features

1up drafts answers from company websites, product documentation, previous RFPs, Google Drive and SharePoint. That gives teams a way to draw on existing knowledge instead of treating each questionnaire as a blank document; the quality of the starting point depends on the material the team connects and maintains. It supports Word, Excel, Google Sheets, PDF and web-based questionnaires.

Answers can be reviewed and edited by teammates, and 1up remembers those changes for similar questions. That reuse can help teams refine repeat answers over time. Assignments, approval workflows and status tracking add structure for work that needs input from multiple reviewers, rather than leaving coordination to ad hoc handoffs. Completed responses can be exported as DOCX or PDF.

The platform says it can understand documents and draft responses in more than 20 languages. Its named integrations include Google Drive, Confluence, SharePoint, Slack, Microsoft Teams and Google Chat, as well as single sign-on providers including Okta, Azure, FusionAuth and Ping Identity. Chrome and Edge browser plugins can generate answers in web questionnaires, which is useful when a request arrives through a form rather than a file.

For security-conscious buyers, 1up says it is SOC 2 Type II compliant, encrypts data in transit and at rest, and does not use uploaded documents to train AI models. Customers can choose US, EU or AU availability zones and modify or delete uploaded data at any time. Support is available by email or through a ticket in the dashboard.

Pricing

1up has a free plan, paid subscriptions and a 14-day trial. The free tier is free and includes one admin, 50 knowledge uploads and 50 answers per month. That cap makes it a practical way to explore the workflow or handle light usage, but not a broad team plan.

MCP costs 50.00 USD per month, plus automation usage. It includes an MCP Server and pay-as-you-go questionnaire automations at $0.05 per question answered. The per-question charge makes this a lower fixed-cost option for teams with variable demand, but buyers should estimate answer volume before choosing it.

Starter costs 300.00 USD per month and includes unlimited users, unlimited answers, Slack, Teams, Google Chat and browser plugins, but is limited to one questionnaire. It suits a team focused on a single active questionnaire; unlimited answers should not be mistaken for unlimited questionnaire projects. Plus costs 900.00 USD per month and adds KB Plushie and Team Training to everything in Starter, with six questionnaires. It is the more suitable tier for teams managing several concurrent questionnaires.

Enterprise is custom pricing, with everything in Plus, a dedicated success manager and custom questionnaire volume. It is aimed at organizations that need a tailored volume arrangement and dedicated support. The 14-day trial gives a short evaluation window; confirm renewal and any trial terms before purchase, as they are not provided here.

Platforms

1up is available on the web and as a browser extension for Chrome and Edge. The extension's web-form answer generation complements document-based questionnaire work, while the web platform provides the broader team workflow.

Who it's for

1up is best for sales and Infosec teams that repeatedly answer customer questionnaires and want shared knowledge, reusable edits and controlled review. Teams handling only a few requests may find the Free tier's answer and upload caps restrictive, while Starter's one-questionnaire limit may not suit a portfolio of simultaneous bids.

Pros and cons

Pro: Multiple knowledge sources and support for common file and web formats give teams several routes to reuse company material.
Pro: Review assignments, approvals and status tracking address coordination as well as drafting, which matters when questionnaire answers need team scrutiny.
Pro: Regional availability-zone choices, encryption and the stated policy against training on uploaded documents address important data-control concerns.
Con: Free is limited to one admin, 50 uploads and 50 monthly answers, so it offers little headroom for a larger team or steady response volume.
Con: Starter and Plus are capped at one and six questionnaires respectively, despite unlimited answers; teams should compare those project allowances with their pipeline.
Con: MCP adds a $0.05 charge for each answered question on top of its monthly fee, making costs dependent on usage.

Alternatives

For a broader shortlist, see RFP Response Software. Presel is another freemium option with a free plan and a seven-day Pro trial that requires no credit card to explore. Choose RFP Response Builder if macOS or Windows access matters alongside web use; it offers a 14-day free trial, though its Business plan requires at least five users. BidGenie may suit a small team wanting a limited free start: its one-time 60-credit trial covers up to three RFPs and one team member.

RFP.ai is worth comparing if API access is important; its Starter plan is €49.00 EUR per month and includes five users, unlimited projects, 1M tokens and 1K pages per month. Steerlab offers a free first RFP or questionnaire without a credit card, useful for trying a single request before committing. Tribble is an alternative for teams prioritizing source-cited drafts, confidence context, SME routing and an audit trail. Tenderbolt uses custom pricing tailored to team size and RFP volume, a fit to consider when a tailored commercial arrangement is preferred. Responsive is another paid option, with its Emerging Edition starting from $10,000.00 USD per year.

Verdict

Choose 1up if your sales or Infosec team repeatedly answers questionnaires and needs internal knowledge reuse combined with shared review and approval controls. Its blend of supported formats, browser answering and workflow features addresses more than drafting alone. Look elsewhere if you need many questionnaires on the lower paid tiers, or if per-question usage charges make MCP difficult to budget.
