Overview

Offboarding brings departure tasks, communications, forms, paperwork, equipment and access-related work into reusable checklists. Teams can revise a checklist as their process changes, then apply it to future terminations instead of rebuilding each exit.

A checklist can become an employee journey with automated actions, notifications and assigned tasks. Form actions collect information at configured steps and route each form to the appropriate person at the appropriate time. Stated use cases include asset retrieval, system-access work, paperwork, knowledge preservation and post-employment support.

Access revocation is marked as coming soon. 50skills can connect to existing solutions or create manager tasks, but it does not currently provide access removal itself. That makes it a workflow coordinator rather than a complete automated deprovisioning layer.

Key features

Exit checklists: Combine operational and administrative steps in a process that can be updated and reused. This is useful where HR, IT, facilities and managers must follow the same sequence.
Automated journeys: Convert checklists into journeys that trigger actions, notifications and assignments, reducing manual chasing on routine departures.
Form routing: Collect information at specific points and send forms to the right recipient on schedule, supporting approvals and final documentation.
Integration and API connections: The integration directory includes ADP Workforce Now, BambooHR and HiBob. API access keys allow external tools to connect to and automate through the 50skills API.
Security controls: 50skills states that data is hosted only in the EU, encrypted in transit with TLS 1.2 or higher and at rest with AES-256. Role-based access, SSO and MFA are provided, alongside regular penetration testing. The company says customer data is not used to train AI models and reports Cyber Essentials Plus certification independently verified by the IASME Consortium.

Pricing

Starter — free. This is a two-week free trial with access to all essential features, no upfront payment and cancellation at any time. It is the low-risk way to assess the workflow, but the stated trial term makes it unsuitable as a permanent free operating tier.

Business — $291.00 USD per month, billed monthly or annually. It includes 3,000 credits per month, AI Agents, AI Workflow Helper and private workspaces. This fits teams that need recurring automated journeys and collaboration without premium-level extensibility. Additional 1,000-credit monthly increments can be purchased when the allowance is insufficient.

Premium — $992.00 USD per month, billed monthly or annually. The allowance rises to 18,000 credits per month and adds a custom portal URL, webhook actions, code actions and calendar-event actions. It is aimed at higher-volume or more connected processes; the price jump is substantial, so smaller teams should only choose it when those actions or credit volume are necessary.

Enterprise — custom pricing. Annual credit limits, Azure Single Sign-On, custom payment options and a dedicated account manager are included. The plan is described for large teams with complex needs, where procurement support and account management matter more than a public price.

Platforms

50skills Offboarding is available through its web platform and API. The API option is particularly relevant when HR, payroll or internal systems need to exchange data or trigger workflow actions.

Who it's for

This is a good match for HR and operations teams standardising employee exits across recurring departments, especially those already using supported HR or payroll systems. It also suits organisations that want approvals, asset recovery, final documentation and knowledge transfer represented in one repeatable journey.

It is a weaker fit for security teams whose primary requirement is immediate, automatic account deprovisioning. Since access removal is not currently supported, those teams must rely on connected systems or manager tasks for that part of the exit.

Pros and cons

Pros: Reusable checklists cover the full administrative sequence; automated journeys reduce follow-up; forms can be routed at defined steps; API keys, webhooks and code actions support integration; EU hosting, encryption, SSO and MFA provide substantial stated safeguards.
Cons: Direct access removal is not available yet; Business and Premium carry significant monthly costs; credit quotas constrain automated usage, with extra 1,000-credit blocks sold separately; Enterprise pricing requires a sales conversation.

Verdict

Choose 50skills Offboarding when you need reusable exit checklists, routed forms, automated assignments and API or HR/payroll connections in one process. Look elsewhere when automatic removal of access from existing systems is a must-have today, or when the Business and Premium credit-based pricing does not fit your volume.
