Overview

BUSY is accounting and business-management software for businesses that need billing, stock control and GST workflows in one system. It is best suited to Indian small and midsize businesses, especially those handling inventory or multiple companies. Its free Express plan makes a low-risk starting point; businesses needing complete GST or branch operations will need a paid tier.

Key features

Accounts, billing and GST

Invoices, receipts, accounting vouchers, reports and financial statements cover the routine work of a small business, and the Express plan includes a meaningful slice of those essentials. GST reconciliation covers GSTR-1, 2A, 2B and 3B, with ITC mismatch tracking; IRP integration supports e-invoices. That makes BUSY a more relevant fit for GST-registered businesses than a basic bookkeeping tool. WhatsApp invoice sharing is also supported.

Inventory and operations

BUSY tracks items across warehouses and supports orders, batches, serial numbers and reorder levels. The Standard plan adds batch-wise inventory, orders and quotations, plus BOM and production planning. These capabilities make it useful beyond simple ledger work, although businesses needing those advanced workflows should compare the plan cost against their operational requirements.

Access and deployment

BUSY is available as desktop software and as a cloud-based online version, with hybrid deployment. The mobile app supports reports, orders, quotations, invoices, ledgers, stock and payment reminders. User-definable access rights and activity logs help managers control and review use. Regular SQL plans support unlimited simultaneous users in one or multiple offices and include secure server backups, which may suit distributed teams; these details apply to Regular SQL plans, not necessarily every offering.

Live phone support is offered 24/7, with email, WhatsApp and call support also available. BUSY also supports migration from Tally or Marg, a practical consideration for firms changing systems.

Pricing

Express is a 100% free billing and accounting plan. It includes accounting vouchers, invoices, receipts, inventory, multiple companies and financial years, reports, profit and loss, and balance sheets. For a small business with basic needs, that is a useful way to start; the plan does not establish that advanced GST or branch-management functions are included.

Paid pricing spans annual plans and plans billed monthly. Start costs ₹5,000 per year, billed 360 days, and covers non-GST billing and accounting, inventory, ledger reconciliation, depreciation, financial statements, and email, WhatsApp and call support. It suits a non-GST business that has outgrown the free tier. Smart costs ₹8,000 per year, billed 360 days, and adds complete GST with 10,000 EWB and e-invoices, making it the clearer fit for a smaller GST-registered operation.

Power costs ₹12,000 per year, billed 360 days, and is tailored to multi-branch operations with 20,000 EWB and e-invoices. Power+ costs ₹50,000 per year, billed 360 days, and is aimed at large enterprises; it includes 10 users, 150 companies and 50,000 EWB and e-invoices. Those caps make Power+ more suitable for organizations that need its defined capacity than for small firms seeking only extra accounting features.

Other plans are billed monthly: Basic costs ₹11,000 per month for non-GST billing and accounting, multiple companies and financial years, multiple-godown inventory, access rights and ledger reconciliation. Standard costs ₹16,500 per month and adds complete GST, orders and quotations, batch-wise inventory, BOM and production planning, and multi-currency support. Enterprise costs ₹22,000 per month and is built for multi-branch management, online and offline operation, branch-wise reporting, multiple GSTINs, payroll, indent and call management. These monthly tiers may fit businesses needing their specific capabilities, but their prices are a substantial step up from the annual options.

A 15-day trial is available without a credit card. The annual plans are billed for 360 days; the listed monthly plans are billed monthly.

Platforms

BUSY supports web and is also available as desktop software and a cloud-based online version. Mobile apps are offered through Google Play and the App Store.

Who it's for

BUSY is a strong candidate for Indian businesses combining accounting with inventory, GST reconciliation or multi-branch operations. Express can serve a small business with core billing and accounts, while the paid tiers map to non-GST accounting, complete GST, or larger branch and enterprise needs. It is less compelling for a business that only wants straightforward personal or small-business desktop accounting and has no need for its broader operating features.

Pros and cons

Pros: Express includes accounting, invoices, inventory, multiple companies and financial statements at no cost, giving small firms a useful starting point.
Pros: GST return reconciliation with ITC mismatch tracking, IRP e-invoice integration and WhatsApp invoice sharing bring several India-specific workflows together.
Pros: Stock controls span warehouses, batches, serial numbers and reorder levels, with higher plans extending into production and multi-branch operations.
Pros: A no-card 15-day trial, migration from Tally or Marg, and 24/7 phone support lower some adoption and support barriers.
Cons: The Basic and Standard monthly plans cost ₹11,000 and ₹16,500 per month, respectively, so businesses should assess whether their required features justify choosing these over annual tiers.
Cons: Paid tiers differ substantially in scope and transaction quotas; businesses must match GST, branch, user and e-invoice needs to the plan rather than assume every tier includes them.

Verdict

Choose BUSY if your business needs accounting tied to GST workflows and inventory, with a free plan for core billing and paid tiers for more demanding operations. Its breadth, India-oriented tax features and support options are the main reasons to shortlist it. Look elsewhere if you need only simple desktop bookkeeping or if the cost of the monthly tiers outweighs the value of their added capabilities.
