Overview

Lindy is an AI work assistant that coordinates tasks across connected apps, with routines and skills for repeatable work. It suits teams that want to automate activity across several tools and can manage per-user credit budgets. Its breadth is a strength; the main constraint is that credit-using actions stop when an allowance is exhausted.

Key features

Lindy combines multi-step workflows with conditional logic and webhook triggers, so it can support processes that depend on events or intermediate results rather than a single action. Examples include pulling reports, updating a CRM, clearing an inbox, and preparing meeting materials. Scheduled routines and more than 40 included skills add recurring tasks, while teams can create skills of their own.

The service says it offers more than 1,000 integrations, including Slack, Gmail, Google Calendar, HubSpot, Salesforce, GitHub, and Notion, and supports connecting MCP servers. That range makes Lindy a plausible fit for work that crosses multiple systems, though the credit allowance will determine how much activity can run. Lindy is available through Slack, iMessage, and the browser, and supports email drafting, scheduling, and inbox replies.

Lindy says data is encrypted in transit and at rest and is not used to train AI models. It lists SOC 2 Type II certification and HIPAA, GDPR, and PIPEDA compliance. Users can set, change, and revoke permissions, and each action is logged. Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM, audit logs, dedicated support, and onboarding and enablement, making that tier the one to consider when centralized access controls and support matter.

Pricing

The Free plan is free and provides $50 in credits, which last 7 days; no credit card is required. It is useful for a short, limited evaluation, not ongoing use. Plus costs 29.99 USD per month per user and includes 3k credits per user per month, making it the entry paid tier for individuals or smaller teams with modest workloads.

Pro costs 99.99 USD per month per user for 15k credits per user per month. It suits heavier use that would exceed Plus’s allowance, while Max costs 199.99 USD per month per user and provides 35k credits per user per month for still greater usage. The higher tiers buy more credits, so the right choice depends on expected activity per seat. Credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over; once they run out, credit-using actions pause until the next reset.

Enterprise has custom pricing and includes HIPAA compliance and a signed BAA, shared usage and bonus credits, dedicated support, audit logs, and onboarding and enablement. It is the relevant option for organizations that need those controls or support rather than simply a larger individual allowance.

Platforms

Lindy is available as a web service and browser extension. Its stated availability in Slack and iMessage also gives users ways to work with it within those communication environments.

Who it's for

Lindy is best suited to teams with repeatable cross-app work, especially those that benefit from scheduled routines, custom skills, and conditional multi-step processes. Teams should be comfortable estimating usage and selecting a tier around credits per user. It is a weaker fit for workloads that cannot tolerate an automation pause when credits run out, or for buyers who need predictable usage without monitoring credit consumption.

Pros and cons

Pro: More than 1,000 integrations and MCP server support give teams a broad base for connecting work across tools.
Pro: Multi-step workflows, conditions, webhooks, routines, and custom skills can cover more than one-off assistant tasks.
Pro: Permission controls, action logging, and stated security and compliance provisions support teams with governance requirements.
Con: Credit allowances are per user on Plus, Pro, and Max, and credit-using work pauses when they run out; teams need to budget usage and account for interruptions.
Con: Credits expire at each billing-cycle reset rather than carrying forward, so unused allowance does not offset a later busy period.
Con: The free allowance lasts only 7 days, limiting its usefulness as a continuing free tier.

Alternatives

For a Linux, macOS, web, or Windows option with a free personal workspace for up to three people, limited usage, and access to 1,000+ integrations that works with an existing AI subscription, consider Houston. For a chat API across Android, iOS, web, API, or self-hosted deployments, QuickBlox Chat API is a different kind of option, with a free Basic tier for 500 total users and one month of data retention.

Microsoft Copilot is worth considering if a freemium assistant across web, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android better matches your needs; its free access is limited by capacity and usage. If you want an agent-building platform with API and self-hosting options, SmythOS offers a free one-seat Public plan and a Builder plan with 100 fast API calls per day.

For document automation, Automation Anywhere Document Automation offers a Community Edition for eligible small businesses, capped at five machines and 100 pages per month. Relevance AI is another web-based freemium option, with a free plan that includes 100 credits per day, one user, and 200 actions per month. For testing automation, UiPath Test Cloud is an alternative with a free trial and a Standard plan. Agentforce Vibes is another freemium option, with Vibes included in Salesforce Foundations.

Verdict

Choose Lindy if your team needs repeatable, conditional work across connected apps and can match usage to its per-user credit tiers. Its integration breadth, routines, and skills make it more capable than a single-purpose assistant; the reason to look elsewhere is the credit ceiling, which can pause work until the next billing reset.
