Overview

Agantty is a project-planning tool for teams that want to organize work around Gantt charts. It is best suited to small and medium-sized teams coordinating projects on a shared timeline. Its planning and task tools are broad, but the free plan’s one-project ceiling and the requirement that collaborators register make it a limited way to try team use.

Key features

Gantt charts put projects, tasks and teams on a timeline, with dependencies and milestones to map sequencing and key dates. Resource management and a workload view add ways to consider assignments and team capacity. These planning features make Agantty more useful for coordinating interdependent work than a simple task list, though the maker does not describe API access for bringing in external data.

A dashboard gathers to-dos and filters them by project, user or timeframe, while drag-and-drop, rights management, email reminders and PDF exports support day-to-day coordination. Calendar export links and ICS files let users synchronize projects with Google Calendar, Apple iCal, Outlook or other calendars. The mobile apps for iOS and Android can display and add tasks and save filter shortlists, giving users a way to keep up with work away from a desktop.

Team sharing has a practical access condition: everyone who joins a team must register with Agantty. Teams unable to require member accounts should look elsewhere. Agantty says its servers are in Germany, communication is encrypted with 256-bit SSL, passwords are encrypted, backups and database copies are performed, and it follows German BDSG data-protection regulations and holds ISO 27001 certification. Organizations requiring self-hosting cannot use it that way; Agantty says running an instance on a user's own server is not yet possible.

Pricing

Agantty is freemium, with a 14-day trial. The Free plan is free and includes the trial with all features, but caps use at one project, provides no teams and offers no support. That makes it suitable for an individual evaluating the planning workflow, not for a team expecting to share several projects on an ongoing basis.

Premium is 490.00 EUR per month, billed per person. It includes unlimited tasks, projects and teams, CSV project-data imports, project templates from a user's own collection or the Community, tasklists via email and ticket support. This is the plan for teams that need room to scale projects and import existing data, but its per-person billing means costs rise with the team. Premium customers also get the ability to use project templates; the free plan's one-project limit and lack of teams make it a poor substitute for a shared team workspace.

Platforms

Agantty is available on the web, Android, iOS, Linux, macOS and Windows. Its mobile apps support viewing and adding tasks and saving filter shortlists. The product is available in English, German and Low German.

Who it's for

Small and medium-sized teams that need timeline-based project planning, task dependencies, workload visibility and calendar exports are the clearest fit. The mobile task functions and dashboard filters also suit people who need to check or add work across projects. It is a weaker choice for organizations that need self-hosting, external-data API processing or project sharing without requiring collaborators to register.

Pros and cons

Pros: Gantt planning is complemented by dependencies, milestones, resource management and a workload view, making it useful for coordinating connected work and assignments.
Pros: Calendar export links and ICS files support synchronization with major calendar services, while mobile apps allow task viewing and entry.
Pros: Premium removes project, task and team limits and adds CSV imports, templates, email tasklists and ticket support.
Cons: Free permits only one project, no teams and no support, so it cannot serve as a continuing free shared workspace.
Cons: Every team member must register, which adds an access hurdle for collaborators who do not want another account.
Cons: There is no current API processing for external data or self-hosted deployment, limiting integration and infrastructure choices.

Alternatives

Choose Ganttic if a free plan with up to 10 resources and unlimited users and projects better fits the team; its listed platforms include Android, iOS, web and API. Instagantt is worth considering for an Asana-linked free option capped at three projects and one user, or an individual plan priced at 10.00 USD per month. For a desktop-focused free option across Windows, macOS and Linux, GanttProject offers a free download and an optional paid download.

Rillsoft Project, Ingantt, Open Planner Studio, GANTT360° and Ganty are other Gantt-planning alternatives to compare.

Verdict

Agantty is a sensible pick for small and medium-sized teams that want Gantt-based planning with dependencies, workload visibility, calendar exports and mobile task access. Its Premium plan supplies the project and team capacity the free tier lacks, but per-person billing, mandatory member registration and the absence of API processing or self-hosting make it a poor fit for teams with tighter integration or deployment requirements.
