Overview

NX brings visual application composition, workflow automation, integrations, and pro-code support into one platform. Its model-driven design runs without compilation or a virtual machine, while runtime changes let teams adjust workflows without redeploying them. That combination suits processes that cross systems and may need to change after launch, but it is more platform than a team seeking only a simple task tracker is likely to need.

AgilePoint was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Mountain View, California. The platform's deployment options span SaaS, on-premises, and private cloud; pricing also describes public cloud and hybrid deployments.

Key features

Adapt workflows as they run

Teams can roll back, skip, suspend, or resume work; split or merge paths; perform partial rework; and migrate work in flight without redeployment or recompilation. This is a meaningful advantage for processes where exceptions arise after launch. It also makes NX a stronger fit for operational orchestration than for teams that only need fixed, linear automations.

Connect systems and reuse capabilities

AgilePoint lists more than 1,200 reusable capability assets from over 120 systems and internally built assets. Its integration catalog includes Salesforce, SAP, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira, UiPath, OpenAI, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and AWS services. That breadth can reduce the need to assemble every connection from scratch, though connector access differs by edition: Standard includes core connectors, while Enterprise includes advanced connectors.

Build and govern AI-enabled processes

NX v10 can generate application experiences from images, PDFs, mockups, documents, and external data sources. Its MCP Server lets compatible AI agents trigger AgilePoint workflows without custom integration code, and the AI Control Tower supports public and private model strategies with governance, observability, and control over AI-driven process behavior. Field-level encryption with customer-managed keys and API key management add security controls for data and external tools. AgilePoint says it is pursuing ISO 42001 certification; that is not the same as holding the certification.

Pricing

AgilePoint NX uses a freemium model, with paid plans from $39.00 USD per month per named user. A 30-day trial is offered. The edition choice has practical consequences: the low entry price carries a 50-seat minimum on Standard, while Professional requires 35 seats and Enterprise is priced by production CPU core.

Community Edition: custom pricing; up to 25 named users and two applications, with community-based support. It is the entry point for a small evaluation or contained deployment, but the two-application cap and community support make it a limited choice for broader production needs.
Standard Edition: $39.00 USD per month per named user, minimum 50 seats. It includes core connectors, SSO, public or private cloud or on-premises deployment, and standard 9–5 support. This is the clearest fit for teams needing named-user access and core integrations; the 50-seat floor makes it expensive in practice for smaller teams.
Professional Edition: $195.00 USD per month per DCA seat, or $59.00 USD per month per named seat, with a 35-seat minimum and DCA shared 10–25×. It adds advanced connectors, Mobile App Builder, and Analytic Center, with public or private cloud or on-premises deployment and optional 24/7 support. DCA seats can be shared across users, making this option relevant where access is intermittent, but the minimum commitment is substantial.
Enterprise Edition: $19,950.00 USD per month per production CPU core, minimum two cores. It includes unlimited managed users, advanced connectors and clustering, two non-production environments, hybrid private cloud and on-premises deployment, and optional 24/7 support. It targets enterprise-wide rollouts; the core-based price and two-core minimum are difficult to justify for narrower deployments.
Anonymous External Users: custom pricing with usage-based licensing, secure interaction for unmanaged identities, and no seat allocation requirement. This suits workflows involving people outside the managed workforce without consuming named seats.

Dynamic Concurrent Access starts at $195.00 USD per month per seat, with volume discounts; each seat is shared across humans and AI agents and serves 10–25 users on average. Named User Seat pricing is $39.00 USD per month with a 50-seat minimum, one identity per perpetual seat, and standard entitlement. Those seat models make concurrency and workforce size central to cost planning, not just the advertised starting price.

Platforms

AgilePoint NX supports Android, iOS, Windows, web, API, and self-hosted deployment. Mobile support and deployment flexibility help organizations serve users across devices and infrastructure choices, while the available deployment model still depends on the selected plan.

Who it's for

NX is best for organizations that need to coordinate complex processes across multiple systems, change workflows while they run, and govern AI participation. Professional suits teams that need advanced connectors, mobile app building, or analytics; Enterprise is aimed at broad rollouts with unlimited managed users. It is a less natural fit for small teams that cannot use a 35- or 50-seat minimum, or for buyers who need a simple process tool without platform-level controls.

Pros and cons

Pro: Runtime rollback, migration, and partial rework allow teams to handle exceptions without redeployment or recompilation.
Pro: More than 1,200 reusable assets and connectors spanning major enterprise and AI systems offer a broad integration base.
Pro: MCP triggering, AI governance, and customer-managed-key encryption address both agent workflows and oversight needs.
Con: Standard's 50-seat and Professional's 35-seat minimums raise the entry commitment for smaller teams.
Con: Community is capped at two applications and relies on community support, limiting its role as a full-scale deployment.
Con: Enterprise's minimum two production cores at $19,950.00 USD per month per core makes it a major commitment.

Alternatives

Consider Bonita if a free plan with 150 process instances per month, no time limit, and no credit-card requirement better fits a bounded start. Camunda is worth comparing when local development and testing without a license is the priority. MetaTask offers a Basic Team plan at $49.00 USD per month for 20 active workflows and 10 team members, a more defined small-team scope. ProcessMind has a free plan for one member with full process access, unlimited models, and 20 AI credits per month, making it a narrower no-cost starting point.

Flowable is an alternative with Apache 2.0-licensed engines written in Java. HEFLO, Bizagi Modeler, and Pega CRM are other options to compare.

Verdict

AgilePoint NX is a strong choice for organizations that need cross-system workflows to adapt at runtime and want controls for AI-driven processes. Its reusable integrations and deployment options support that breadth. Look elsewhere if your team is small, your workflows are straightforward, or the seat and core minimums outweigh the value of a governed orchestration platform.
