Overview

Ahenora brings recurring tasks and reminders together with a shared calendar that imports Google or Outlook events. Families can plan dinners, generate recipe ideas with AI, share shopping lists and track costs by month and shop. Scanning a school letter or appointment card can create a task or save a document in the household vault.

For co-parents, alternating-week custody schedules, hand-off notes and the ability to continue a task started by the other parent address practical coordination needs beyond ordinary calendar sharing. Family messaging keeps a parent in every private conversation, and optional private accounts are available for ages 13–17. Children under 13 cannot have accounts, and the household creator must be 18 or older.

Key features

Routines and calendar

Recurring routines and reminders suit ongoing household responsibilities, while calendar imports can spare families from entering Google or Outlook events twice. Reminders are not guaranteed to arrive, so use another safeguard for time-critical appointments or deadlines.

Meals, shopping and documents

Meal planning, AI-assisted recipes and shared shopping lists make Ahenora more than a calendar, and monthly spending tracking can help keep grocery costs visible. Scans can turn paper notices into tasks or stored documents, but the free plan’s three monthly scans and 25 MB vault will constrain households that regularly handle paperwork.

Access, privacy and offline use

Household content is not read by Ahenora staff, sold or used to train models, according to the maker; individual items can also be made private from other household members. Tasks, shopping lists, meals and household membership remain viewable offline, with offline task completions sent after connectivity returns. Scanned or AI-assisted results should be reviewed before anyone relies on them.

Household adds helper and nanny accounts, with access to schedules, tasks and chat but not documents or money. This boundary may suit families who want practical help without sharing sensitive records. The service may be unavailable during maintenance or infrastructure incidents, and uninterrupted access is not guaranteed.

Pricing

Ahenora is freemium, with a free trial followed by a permanent free tier and paid plans billed monthly. The plans are presented in euros:

Free — free: Two adults get tasks, calendar, shared lists, family chat and reminders, plus three scans a month and a 25 MB document vault. Children are on Family, so this is a reasonable starting point for adult-only households but not for families wanting children’s features.
Duo — 1.99 EUR per month: Adds meal planning, recipe AI, unlimited scans, a Sunday brief, weekly report, gift pot and 500 MB storage for two adults. It suits couples who want the extra planning and paperwork tools but gives up the children’s section.
Family — 4.99 EUR per month: Includes Duo features plus up to five children, chores, stars and rewards, pocket money and a carpool schedule. This is the relevant tier for families who need child-focused routines; the five-child cap may be restrictive for larger households.
Household — 9.99 EUR per month: Includes Family features, up to 10 children and 20 people, helper and nanny accounts, and a 10 GB vault. It fits larger households or those involving caregivers, though helpers do not receive access to documents or money.

The paid tiers are monthly and can be cancelled any time. The free tier is billed Free for good after the 14-day free period; its scan and storage caps are the main trade-off for staying at no cost.

Platforms

Ahenora is available on Android, iOS and the web, in English, French, Spanish and German. Its headquarters are in Bondy, France. Support requests go to support@ahenora.com; privacy, data-protection or deletion requests go to privacy@ahenora.com.

Who it's for

Ahenora is best suited to households that need more than event sharing: co-parents managing custody hand-offs, families coordinating chores and meals, or caregivers who need controlled access to schedules and tasks. It is less suitable for a household that needs guaranteed reminders, uninterrupted availability, accounts for children under 13, or a helper who must access household documents or money.

Pros and cons

Pro: Tasks, calendar, meals, shopping and paperwork share one household workflow, reducing the need to keep those routines in separate tools.
Pro: Custody schedules, hand-off notes and task handovers directly support co-parenting logistics.
Pro: Offline viewing and later task synchronization help keep core household information accessible without a connection.
Con: The free plan limits scanning to three times monthly and storage to 25 MB, while child features require the Family plan.
Con: Reminders may not arrive and service availability is not guaranteed, so Ahenora should not be the only safety net for urgent commitments.
Con: Household helpers cannot access documents or money, limiting their usefulness for families that need broader delegation.

Alternatives

For a straightforward shared calendar with grocery and to-do lists plus a recipe library on its free plan, consider Cozi. FamilyWall is another free option centered on a shared calendar, lists, messaging and a contact book.

If you want chores, routines, basic meal planning and recipes in a free tier, Famnest is worth comparing. Cozyla Calendar is an Android and iOS option with a free tier included with its device.

Fami offers a free core set spanning calendar, chores, shopping, budget and family places. TimeTree is a broader calendar-sharing alternative, with multiple calendars, comments, photos and calendar imports in its free plan.

For an iOS and web option with up to six household members and a monthly allowance of AI photo-to-events, consider Our Life. Famnly is an iOS-only alternative. Browse Family Calendar Apps for more options.

Verdict

Choose Ahenora if your household needs a shared operating space for routines, meals, paperwork and, especially, co-parenting hand-offs. Its strongest advantage is bringing those interconnected tasks together, while the reasons to look elsewhere are the plan gates on children and helpers and the service’s non-guaranteed reminders and availability.
