Overview

AIPhotor brings together object and background removal, enhancement, restoration, colorization and portrait retouching. That breadth is useful when a project calls for different kinds of fixes; people focused on a single restoration workflow may prefer a dedicated alternative.

Registered users get five credits on a free account. Each image consumes one credit for the listed edits, so the free allowance is enough to try a few jobs, not a continuing source of unrestricted editing.

Key features

The toolset includes object and background removal, photo enhancement, colorization, skin retouching, text removal, photo restoration, sky changes, auto lighting, art enhancement and background blur. Scratch repair and face enhancement are also supported. This makes AIPhotor a versatile option for occasional mixed editing, though credits can make frequent use harder to budget than an unlimited plan.

Object removal detects unwanted objects automatically and provides a manual brush for adjustments. That combination gives users a way to refine a cleanup when automatic detection misses part of an item. The background remover accepts JPG, PNG and JPEG images and offers background colors, replacement images and templates, so it can support a scene change as well as a simple cutout.

Uploads must be under 4096 × 4096 pixels and no larger than 10 MB. PNG, JPG, JPEG and BMP are supported. These caps are reasonable for routine web and personal work, but rule out larger files that exceed either limit.

One image uses one credit. Monthly plans charge one credit per successful background removal, object removal or colorization; photo enhancement costs one credit when the image's long edge is no more than 4096 pixels. The credit terms make smaller jobs predictable, but users should account for their expected volume before choosing a recurring plan.

Images are transmitted over SSL/TLS, stored using AWS and Google Cloud, and deleted along with results and face data within about an hour after upload. The privacy policy describes GDPR-related rights and says server logs are kept for no more than three months. Support is by email, with replies potentially taking 2–4 business days during peak periods.

Pricing

The free account is free and includes five credits for registered users. It is the sensible starting point for occasional edits, but a small allowance rather than a lasting free workflow.

Monthly subscriptions provide recurring credits: 100 credits for 3.99 USD per month, 150 credits for 4.99 USD per month, or 300 credits for 6.99 USD per month. Each renews automatically unless canceled, and paid-service payments are generally non-refundable to the extent permitted by law. The 100-credit tier suits lighter regular use; the larger tiers give more monthly capacity without changing the one-credit pricing for the listed edits.

For users who edit intermittently, pay-as-you-go credits do not expire: 100 credits cost 4.99 USD per once, 150 cost 5.99 USD per once, and 300 cost 9.99 USD per once. They avoid a monthly renewal, but cost more than the corresponding monthly credit allotments and do not replenish. Check the credit rules for the intended tool before buying, since the stated consumption terms apply to the listed edits.

The object-removal page advertises a 3-day free trial. That brief trial can help users assess the tool before paying, but it is distinct from the five-credit free account. The pricing information does not establish what the trial includes or whether it converts to a paid subscription, so do not assume either without confirming the terms.

Platforms

AIPhotor is available on the web, Android and iOS. The web editor supports PNG, JPG, JPEG and BMP uploads, subject to the image size and dimension limits.

Who it's for

AIPhotor suits casual users, designers, photographers and online entrepreneurs who want a single service for occasional retouching, cleanup and restoration. Its range of tools and low-cost entry tiers are useful when jobs vary, while the credit model and file caps make it a weaker fit for high-volume work or larger images.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad set of removal, restoration, enhancement and portrait tools supports mixed editing jobs in one editor.
Manual brush adjustments complement automatic object detection, and background replacement options extend beyond a transparent cutout.
Five free credits and low-cost monthly tiers provide an inexpensive way to try the service and handle modest recurring workloads.
Pay-as-you-go credits do not expire, which suits users with irregular editing needs.
Images and face data are deleted with results within about an hour after upload.

Cons

Credit charges mean usage needs budgeting, and five free credits will not sustain ongoing work.
Monthly subscriptions renew automatically; paid-service payments are generally non-refundable where the law permits.
The 10 MB and under-4096 × 4096-pixel limits exclude some larger files.
Email support may take 2–4 business days to reply during peak periods.

Alternatives

Photo Restoration Software is a useful category to compare when restoration, rather than a broad mix of edits, is the main requirement.

Choose HitPaw FotorPea instead if you want a paid editor with nine AI image enhancement models and access across Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows; its 1 Month plan is 21.99 USD per month.

ImageColorizer is worth considering for a larger free monthly allowance: its Free plan provides 50 credits per month, single processing, all AI features and ads, while the Starter plan costs 6.90 USD per month for 500 credits.

For restoration-focused options, Memento AI has a free Standard restoration option with no watermark and an iOS/macOS focus, while Restore.Photo offers three free monthly restorations at standard quality, up to 1024x1024 resolution, with basic scratch removal, color correction and 24-hour file storage.

SoftOrbits Photo Retoucher is another web and Windows option, with monthly, annual and lifetime plans described as unlimited usage.

Renew is a paid Android, iOS and web alternative whose website subscription includes unlimited access to core features, priority processing, no watermark and HD downloads for 9.99 USD per month.

Restory offers a free trial for testing restoration methods without a credit card, alongside a Pro plan billed for 12 months.

VanceAI Photo Restorer is another freemium alternative, with a Starter plan at 15.00 USD per month and 260 credits per month.

Verdict

Choose AIPhotor if you want one affordable editor for occasional object cleanup, background changes, restoration and portrait retouching, and can work within its file limits and credit allowance. Look elsewhere if you need unlimited high-volume editing, larger uploads or a tool centered on a single restoration workflow.
