Overview

AKOOL brings AI video and image creation together with avatars, face swaps, translation, and developer APIs. It suits creators and marketing teams that want several kinds of personalized visual content in one platform, as well as developers integrating those capabilities. Its breadth is a draw; the free plan’s storage and avatar limits make it a poor fit for sustained production without a suitable paid tier.

Key features

AKOOL covers video and image generation, talking photos, avatar video, face swaps, background changes, and video translation. Custom avatars, voice cloning, and interactive avatars extend its options for personalized content, and it supports video up to 4K. That range will appeal to teams creating varied marketing assets; the free plan, however, caps avatar video at 720P and 10 minutes, so it does not demonstrate the full resolution ceiling.

The Model Hub offers access to Seedance, Kling, Wan, and other video and image models. Developers can use APIs for face swaps, video translation, talking photos and avatars, streaming avatars, image generation, and content moderation, with API documentation, GitHub, and Postman linked from the API page. This is a substantial set of building blocks for teams embedding visual generation into products or workflows. Zapier is marked as coming soon, so it should not be counted on as a current integration.

For business use, AKOOL describes security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, authentication, continuous monitoring, and vetted third-party vendors. It lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 42001, and GDPR compliance. Its moderation approach combines multilingual moderation, human review of flagged or complex cases, and user reporting tools. Enterprise adds SSO, dedicated server resources, customized solutions, and enterprise-grade security and privacy; support is available 24/7.

Pricing

AKOOL uses a freemium model and offers a free plan and free trial. Starter, Pro, Pro Max, and Business each display $0 /seat /mo under the Pricing page’s Yearly selector; the monthly price is not available in that page view, so these figures do not establish the cost of a paid subscription. The paid tiers have monthly credits, while Enterprise credits do not expire.

Free — free: Includes 5 GB of storage, avatar video up to 720P and 10 minutes, five minutes of streaming-avatar session time, five minutes of live face swap, and five TTS uses of up to 1,000 characters each. It is useful for small trials, but its storage, resolution, and usage caps restrict regular production.
Starter — $0 /seat /mo under the Yearly selector: Allows two concurrent video generations, four concurrent image generations, and videos up to 15 minutes. It is the lowest listed generation capacity for anyone moving beyond the free caps.
Pro — $0 /seat /mo under the Yearly selector: Raises concurrency to six video and eight image generations, with videos up to 30 minutes. It suits work needing more parallel output or longer videos than Starter allows.
Pro Max — $0 /seat /mo under the Yearly selector: Provides eight concurrent video and image generations and a 45-minute video limit. It increases video capacity and length over Pro, but does not raise the image-generation concurrency.
Business — $0 /seat /mo under the Yearly selector: Offers 20 concurrent video and 24 concurrent image generations, and videos up to 60 minutes. This is the highest listed capacity for teams producing longer or larger batches.
Enterprise — custom pricing: Customized yearly plans include SSO login and a dedicated customer success manager. Dedicated server resources and customized solutions are also offered as Enterprise options; credits do not expire.

Seats matter because the displayed prices are per seat, while monthly billing prices are not shown in the Pricing page view. Confirm the price and billing terms for the intended tier before choosing a paid plan.

Platforms

AKOOL is available on the web, macOS, and Windows, and offers an API. That combination serves both browser-based creators and developers or teams incorporating its tools into software.

Who it's for

AKOOL is a good fit for creators and marketing teams that need a mix of avatar-led video, translation, face swaps, and image creation, or developers building those functions into a product. Teams with compliance and identity-management requirements may find the Enterprise options relevant. It is less compelling for a small project that needs only a few short avatar videos: the free plan’s caps may be restrictive, and the paid-tier prices need confirmation.

Pros and cons

Pro: A broad mix of video, image, avatar, translation, and face-swap tools can support varied visual projects in one platform.
Pro: APIs cover several creative functions and content moderation, with documentation and developer resources linked from the API page.
Pro: Enterprise options include SSO, dedicated server resources, and non-expiring credits, useful for organizations with specific deployment or access needs.
Con: The free plan limits storage to 5 GB and avatar video to 720P and 10 minutes, constraining larger or higher-resolution projects.
Con: Zapier is still marked as coming soon, so it is not a current workflow-integration option.
Con: Paid-plan figures are shown only under the Yearly selector, and monthly pricing is not available in that view; buyers must confirm the cost and terms they need.

Alternatives

Choose Animaker if you want animation tools with a free plan that explicitly includes limited premium assets and watermarked exports; those free-tier trade-offs are clearer than AKOOL’s avatar-focused caps.

HeyGen is worth considering for a straightforward free trial of avatar video: its free plan allows three videos per month, each up to one minute. Pika is another option if its free offer of two parallel video generations and two parallel image and audio generations suits a small trial.

TikTok Symphony Creative Studio may fit creators looking for weekly video-generation credits, with image generation, avatar videos, translation, and editing not requiring credits. Vidu is an alternative for text-to-video, image-to-video, and reference-based generation.

Powtoon is a better match when presentation-style animation is the priority: its free plan includes 720p exports up to three minutes, screen recording, and basic templates and characters, with a watermark. Wavel AI offers a short, finite trial instead: 15 one-time credits for seven days, with watermarked videos.

TongFlow is an alternative for users who prefer a self-hosted, open-source core with modalities and combine nodes.

Verdict

Choose AKOOL if you need a single platform spanning avatar and image creation, video translation, face swaps, and APIs, especially for personalized business content. Its breadth and enterprise options are the strongest reasons to consider it. Look elsewhere if you need predictable paid pricing before evaluating a subscription, or if the free avatar-video caps are too restrictive for your work.
