Overview

Boddle is a game-based learning platform for elementary students, spanning math, English language arts, and science. It is most useful to K–6 teachers and families looking for adaptive practice with visible progress; the trade-off is that some family-focused features require a subscription.

Its mix of classroom assignments, mastery reporting, and student activities makes it more than a standalone learning game. Families can also use it at home, but its school platform is free, while Premium adds parent-facing tools and game perks.

Key features

Adaptive learning: The roadmap adjusts content according to each learner’s performance, giving students a changing path rather than identical practice. That suits mixed-ability classes and learners who benefit from practice directed by their progress.
Three subject areas: Math, English language arts, and science cover a broader range of elementary practice than a single-subject app. The content is aimed at K–6, not older students.
Teacher assignments and reporting: Teachers can assign standards-aligned skills and review mastery by student, skill, and standard. This supports tracking classroom progress, though the reported focus is mastery rather than a wider set of classroom-management functions.
Classroom connections: Google Classroom and Clever support single sign-on and roster syncing, useful for schools already using those services.
Student supports and safety: Text-to-speech, explanations, a scratchpad, and placement testing support access and problem-solving. Boddle says it complies with COPPA, FERPA, and SOPPA and holds KidSafeSeal certification; it also says there is no player-to-player chat and users cannot share personal information.
Content scale: The Premium page describes more than 2,000 skills and over 48,500 questions, rationales, and explainer videos. That gives families and educators a substantial stated content range, while the free Basic plan is described as including 35,000+ student questions.

Pricing

Boddle uses a freemium model. Its full learning platform is free for every teacher and school, with Premium offered as an optional add-on. For home use, the free Basic plan includes all learning content, many in-game features, and 35,000+ questions, making it a meaningful starting point rather than a short trial. The plan description does not include the Premium game perks, parent portal, or monthly Boddle Bucks offered with paid plans.

Basic: 0.00 USD per free. Includes all learning content, many in-game features, and 35,000+ questions for students.
Yearly Premium: 4.08 USD per year, billed $48.99 billed yearly. Includes Premium game perks, a parent portal, and 1,200 Boddle Bucks monthly. This is the lower-cost paid option for families prepared to pay annually.
Monthly Premium: 9.99 USD per month, billed $9.99 billed monthly. Includes the same stated Premium perks, parent portal, and monthly Boddle Bucks, with monthly billing instead of an annual commitment.

The Premium plans are presented as family options; the school platform remains free. Boddle does not describe a separate seat cap in these plan terms.

Platforms

Boddle runs in web browsers on Chromebooks and laptops and has apps for iOS 12+ and Android 9+. This supports classroom browser access as well as use on common mobile devices.

Who it's for

Boddle is a good fit for elementary teachers who want standards-aligned assignments and mastery views alongside student practice, particularly where Google Classroom or Clever are already in use. Families and homeschoolers can use its multi-subject content and adaptive roadmap, with the parent portal and game perks as reasons to consider Premium. It is not aimed at learners beyond grade 6 or people seeking a specialized single-subject tool.

Pros and cons

Pro: The free school platform includes the full learning platform, so teachers and schools can use its classroom offering without a paid subscription.
Pro: Adaptive practice, standards-aligned assignments, and mastery reporting connect student activity with teacher progress review.
Pro: Math, English language arts, and science bring multiple elementary subjects together, with text-to-speech and question explanations among the student supports.
Con: The stated age range ends at K–6, limiting its relevance for older learners.
