Overview

AppClose covers more than a shared calendar or messaging channel: it combines communication, scheduling, expense tracking, payment handling and record-keeping. That makes it a practical choice when parents want one shared workflow rather than separate tools. Its professional connections and Solo mode also address cases where not everyone involved uses the app.

The trade-off is a more formal approach to communication and record retention than a basic family calendar. Parents outside the United States can still use the platform, but cannot access its certified electronic business-record exports.

Key features

Messages are encrypted, time-stamped, permanent and unalterable; users can search and export conversations. This supports a retrievable record of discussions, but parents should consider whether permanent, uneditable messages fit the way they want to communicate.

Audio and video calls can be recorded, transcribed and securely stored when both participants consent, with no limit on the number of calls. Two-factor authentication, PIN or biometric lock-screen options and encryption add protections. AppClose says it does not sell user data to third parties and uses firewalls and access controls.

Parents can start with 15 parenting-schedule templates or make their own schedules and shared calendar events. The integrated ipayou service supports reimbursements, child support and shared expenses, alongside expense tracking and document storage. Together, these tools keep financial coordination close to the calendar and conversation, though parents looking only for scheduling may not need the full package.

AppClose Solo sends requests, events and expenses to non-users by text or email while retaining a log. That is useful when one parent wants to keep coordination moving without requiring the other to join. With appropriate consent, attorneys, guardians ad litem, mediators and other professionals can connect through AppClose Pro.

Certified electronic business-record exports carry a unique record ID and certification timestamp, but are available only to U.S. users. AppClose Web syncs communications, calendars, expenses and records for browser or desktop use. The service is localized in eight languages, including English and Spanish, and advertises U.S.-based support staff with family-law experience.

Pricing

AppClose offers a 60-day trial and free access through its fee-waiver account for people facing financial hardship and survivors of domestic violence. The fee-waiver account costs 0.00 USD per free. For ongoing paid use, every listed plan includes all features on app and web with unlimited access and no extra payments, so the price differences chiefly reflect billing term and plan label.

Monthly web: 7.99 USD per month, billed monthly. This is the lowest monthly price and suits users who prefer a monthly commitment.
Monthly app: 8.99 USD per month, billed monthly, for all-inclusive access on mobile and web. It costs more than Monthly web despite including web access too.
One Year Prepaid web: 83.88 USD per year, prepaid annually, equivalent to $6.99 monthly. It lowers the monthly equivalent for users comfortable paying a year upfront.
One Year app: 98.99 USD per year, prepaid annually, approximately $8.25/month, with full unlimited access to all features on app and web. It is the pricier annual option.
Two Years Prepaid web: 143.76 USD per year, billed every two years, equivalent to $5.99 monthly. It has the lowest stated monthly equivalent, in exchange for the longest billing commitment.

There is no stated usage quota or seat cap on the paid plans. Check the billing term carefully: the two-year option is billed every two years, while the annual options require annual prepayment. The fee-waiver account is the free option described, rather than a general free plan.

Platforms

AppClose is available on Android, iOS and the web. Synced browser access is useful for parents who prefer to manage calendars, expenses and records at a desktop, while mobile apps support coordination away from a computer.

Who it's for

AppClose is best for co-parents who need messages, schedules, shared expenses and payment coordination tied to a lasting record. Solo mode is a particular advantage when the other parent or another participant is not ready to use the service. It is also a stronger fit when professional collaboration matters. Parents outside the U.S. should not choose it specifically for certified electronic business-record exports, which are unavailable to them.

Pros and cons

Pro: Messaging, scheduling, expense tracking, payments and document storage share one platform, reducing the need to split routine coordination across tools.
Pro: Solo mode can send requests, events and expenses to non-users while preserving a log, so participation does not depend on everyone adopting the app.
Pro: Consented calls can be recorded and transcribed without a call-count limit, and certified exports include a record ID and timestamp for eligible U.S. users.
Con: Certified electronic business-record exports are limited to the United States, a material limitation for users elsewhere who need that record format.
Con: Permanent, unalterable messages may be too formal for parents who want a casual, editable communication channel.
Con: The lowest monthly price is not the lowest listed monthly equivalent; the cheapest equivalent requires a two-year billing commitment.

Alternatives

For a wider comparison of co-parenting tools, start with Co-Parenting Apps.

BestInterest has a free, no-expiration plan with secure messaging, Solo Mode, inbound calls, a shared calendar, tasks and limited daily coaching sessions. Choose it if a free ongoing tier and coaching are priorities.
CoreParent offers a free plan with caps on expenses and court-related features, plus a partner plan for attorneys and mediators. Consider it if those limited free tools or professional access fit your needs.
Custody X Change has a limited free version and no free trial. It may suit someone who wants to try a constrained version before deciding whether a subscription is worthwhile.
Family Focus offers a 7.99 USD per month Premium plan and a free trial on Android and iOS. Consider it if that mobile-only platform and trial are a better fit.
2houses costs 8.25 USD per month, billed as 99.00 USD every 12 months, for one account covering the family. Choose it if a single family subscription is preferable and a paid plan with a trial suits you.
TalkingParents starts at 7.00 USD per month for Essentials, which includes 30 calling minutes, a 4% payment fee and 1 GB of vault storage; Enhanced is 16.00 USD per month. Consider it if its stated entry price and included call and storage limits meet your needs.
Co-parenting App charges 8.99 USD per month for a family subscription covering invited members and all features. It is worth considering if one subscription for the family is the priority.
OurFamilyWizard offers a Choose your own plan at 9.17 USD per month, with 1 GB secure file storage and receive-only calls. Consider it if that combination suits your record-keeping and calling needs.

Verdict

AppClose is a strong fit for co-parents who want schedules, expenses, payments and documented communication in one shared platform, especially when non-users or family-law professionals need to be included. Its most compelling reason to choose it is that breadth, reinforced by Solo mode and unlimited consented call recording. Look elsewhere if certified court-oriented exports are essential outside the United States, or if a permanent communication record feels too restrictive.
