Overview

Studio’s core proposition is a broad voice workflow in one product: change a speaker’s voice without losing the performance, then clean, edit, or process the audio. It supports both recordings and real-time voice changes, so it can serve production work as well as live calls and sessions.

That breadth is most useful to podcasters, game studios, and eLearning teams that need more than a voice changer. The desktop version requires a Windows PC with an 8GB+ Nvidia GPU, and mobile devices are not supported; users without suitable hardware should weigh that constraint before choosing it.

Key features

Morphing and production

Speech-to-Speech, Performance-to-Performance morphing changes the voice while retaining the speaker’s performance. That distinction matters when timing and delivery need to remain intact. Text-to-speech, voice cloning, AI voice cleaning, denoising, audio editing, DSP effects, and batch processing extend the product beyond conversion into audio production. Recorded-audio changes, export, real-time changing, and a virtual microphone are supported.

Rapid Voice Clone uses 4–8 seconds of audio, which makes the initial input brief. Custom voice models require contacting Altered, so they are not the same self-serve option as local cloning.

Languages and integrations

Transcription and translation support 75+ languages; text-to-speech voice-over supports 70+ languages. This is useful for multilingual projects, though the two language ranges apply to different tasks. The online Voice Editor can work with Google Drive audio files, while RealTime Pro routes audio through a virtual microphone to Discord, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. Google Drive access is optional, and Google user data is used only to provide or improve user-facing application features.

Altered says RealTime Pro processes locally on the PC and keeps voice data on the PC; enterprise customers can also use cloud computing. API access is offered to Enterprise customers for integration into other systems. Altered also says it takes measures against illegal or harmful use and may decline to license or sell when a client’s conduct or intentions are unclear.

Pricing

The free plan is free and includes 3 minutes per month of voice morphing, 10,000 AI Tokens, local voice cloning, and an attribution license. Noncommercial use requires credit. The short morphing allowance makes Free best for trying the workflow, not sustained production.

Creator costs 30.00 USD per month (billed billed annually). It raises the monthly morphing allowance to 60 minutes and provides 325,000 AI tokens, local voice cloning, accent voice morphing, and speaking style voice morphing. It is the entry paid tier for creators who can work within a monthly quota.

Professional costs 90.00 USD per month (billed billed annually). Its 180 minutes of monthly voice morphing and 1,000,000 AI tokens suit heavier work; it also adds unlimited local morphing, flexible and performance voice morphing, and 48kHz sample-rate output. The step up is substantial, so its extra headroom and output options matter most to regular production workflows.

Enterprise has custom pricing and includes unlimited voice morphing and tokens, custom voice models, API access, multi-seat support, and a dedicated account manager. It is the relevant tier for teams needing integrations or multiple seats. A 7-day trial is offered.

Platforms

Altered Studio supports API, macOS, web, and Windows, with cross-platform support overall. The desktop requirement is specifically a Windows PC with an 8GB+ Nvidia GPU; mobile devices are not currently supported. Enterprise customers can access the API.

Who it's for

Studio is a strong fit for podcasters, game studios, and eLearning teams that need voice transformation alongside editing, cleanup, or multilingual speech tools. It is less suitable for mobile-first users, people without the required Windows desktop hardware, or occasional users who would quickly exceed Free’s 3-minute morphing cap.

Pros and cons

Pros: Performance-preserving morphing keeps delivery intact while changing the voice, which suits dialogue and character work.
Pros: Editing, denoising, cleaning, DSP effects, and batch processing sit alongside voice generation and morphing, reducing the need to split a production workflow across separate tools.
Pros: Local voice cloning is included even on Free, and Rapid Voice Clone can start from 4–8 seconds of audio.
Cons: Free allows only 3 minutes of monthly voice morphing, limiting it to evaluation or very light use.
Cons: The desktop requirement of a Windows PC with an 8GB+ Nvidia GPU excludes many otherwise capable setups, and mobile is unsupported.
Cons: Creator and Professional are billed annually, so their monthly prices come with an annual billing commitment.

Alternatives

For a broader set of options, browse AI Voice Cloning Software, AI Voice Conversion Software, Game Voice Generators, AI Voice Changer Software, Voice Changer Software, or Text-to-Speech Software.

Voice.ai is worth considering if mobile support matters: it runs on Android and iOS as well as desktop and web, and its free plan includes an online voice changer, text-to-speech, and audio tools.

Fish Audio is an alternative for users who want Linux or self-hosted platform support; its free tier includes 8,000 monthly credits and up to 7 minutes of generation.

Wavel AI may suit users seeking a video-oriented trial: its free access is 15 one-time credits for 7 days with watermarked videos, rather than an unlimited free plan.

Speechify offers a different emphasis for readers who want text-to-speech across mobile and desktop: its free plan includes 10 voices and a maximum speed of 1.5x.

Kits AI is another freemium option, with a free plan offering 15 conversion minutes, voice designer/blender, and generative vocals.

Voicebox is another option to consider.

VoiceStudio is another option to consider.

Applio is a free, open-source alternative with no accounts or paywalls, for users who prefer that model.

Verdict

Choose Altered Studio if voice morphing that preserves performance and a wider set of production tools belong in the same workflow. Its language coverage, cloning, and live-audio support make it especially relevant to creator and studio work; look elsewhere if mobile access, modest desktop hardware, or a larger free morphing allowance is essential.
