Overview

Relate Fundraising CRM is a CRM for founders coordinating investor relationships and fundraising deals. It is best suited to teams that want investor records, communications and shared deal context together. Its focus is fundraising workflow rather than portfolio oversight.

Teams can track investor conversations and ongoing deals, build investor lists, and share context through comments and tags. Relate also supports sales, customer success, partnerships and other processes. For a wider category comparison, see our Investor Relationship Management Software list.

Key features

The pipeline brings investor deals and conversations into one place, giving founders a shared view of fundraising activity. Team lists, comments and tags keep relationship context accessible to colleagues; that is more useful for a coordinated raise than a private contact database. Relate supports LP and investor records, but not portfolio tracking, so it is not the right fit for teams that need to monitor investments after a deal closes.

Email connects through Google, Outlook or IMAP/SMTP, including self-hosted email services. Messages sync in both directions, and users can send from Relate. This can keep investor correspondence alongside deal activity rather than split across separate tools. Slack notifications report updates about organizations, deals and notes to channels or personal messages. Zapier adds connections to more than 4,000 applications, extending the named integrations.

Relate Cal supports investor meeting scheduling, including Zoom calls. Together, pipeline, email, team context and scheduling cover several recurring tasks in a fundraising process. Enrichment is quota-based on the free and Business plans, with pay-as-you-go beyond the included allowance.

Pricing

Relate uses a freemium model, with a free plan, paid plans from $15/mo and a 7-day trial. The published Team Free plan is free. It includes unlimited contacts, 10 guest invites and 250 enrichments plus pay-as-you-go. Its 30-day email and note history is the important trade-off: teams needing older correspondence or notes should not assume the free tier will serve as a lasting record.

Team Business costs 60.00 USD per month, billed per user and billed monthly. It raises the guest allowance to 50, includes up to 250 enrichments plus pay-as-you-go, and adds unlimited qualified deals, reporting and dashboards, as well as full email and note history. This is the better fit for an active team that needs reporting or a complete relationship record, but per-user billing means the cost grows with the number of seats.

Enterprise has custom pricing and is billed by contacting Relate. It adds custom integrations, data warehouse integration, Reverse ETL, multi-workspaces, and security and compliance capabilities. That tier suits organizations needing those capabilities rather than founders seeking a straightforward low-cost fundraising CRM.

Platforms

Relate is available in a browser and as a desktop application for macOS Intel, macOS Apple Silicon and Windows. The mobile experience is a progressive web app used in an iOS or Android browser and can be added to a device home screen, rather than a separate native app. Linux is not officially supported, although Relate says it can provide an installer on request. This setup works for browser-first and mainstream desktop teams, but Linux users should confirm their needs before relying on it.

Who it's for

Relate is a strong fit for founders and small fundraising teams that need to coordinate investor outreach, deal progress, email and meetings. It is less suitable for organizations whose core requirement is portfolio tracking, or whose teams need Linux as a supported platform. The free plan can suit a small team testing the workflow, provided its 30-day history limit is acceptable; teams needing full history and reporting should consider Business.

Pros and cons

Pros: Investor deals, conversations, records, email and meeting scheduling sit in a shared workflow, reducing the need to keep fundraising context in separate places.
Pros: Two-way email sync supports Google, Outlook and IMAP/SMTP, including self-hosted services, while Slack and Zapier widen the ways teams can connect updates and workflows.
Pros: The free plan has unlimited contacts, making it practical to maintain a broad investor list without a contact cap.
Cons: Free plans retain only 30 days of email and note history, which can leave older fundraising context out of reach.
Cons: Business is billed per user, so the $60.00 USD monthly price scales with team size.
Cons: Portfolio tracking is absent, and mobile use is browser-based rather than a dedicated native app.

Alternatives

Visible is worth considering for teams that want a free investor-facing setup: its free Starter plan is $0 per month billed annually, free forever, and includes 100 investor recipients, two pitch decks, two pipelines, one data room, 25 files and two users. That makes its caps explicit for a small team, while Relate's free plan centers on CRM contacts and limits history instead.

Clienteer is another paid option, with a broader set of listed platforms including self-hosted and extension access. Finta may suit buyers considering its paid plans: Finta costs 200.00 USD per month on a 12-month relationship, billed monthly, and includes 2,000 credits per month, the full Finta platform and unlimited members; its Advisory plan costs 500.

Juniper Square is a paid option with Android, iOS, API and web platforms. Pipeline is paid, has a web platform and a 2-week free trial; its plan costs 40.00 USD per month per user for unlimited access afterward.

Allvue Investment Management offers an Allvue Portfolio Management plan with custom pricing and a demo request. DealCloud is a paid option with Android, iOS, web and extension access; its enterprise offering requires contacting an Intapp representative for detailed pricing and includes dedicated cloud storage, daily site backups and dedicated testing. Dynamo CRM & Deal Management is another paid option, with ballpark pricing via demo request.

Verdict

Choose Relate if you are a founder or fundraising team that needs investor pipeline, correspondence and collaboration in one workspace, with a free way to start. Look elsewhere if portfolio tracking is central to your process, if the free history cap is too restrictive, or if your team requires a native mobile app or officially supported Linux desktop.
