Overview

For sellers on Amazon, Shopify, Etsy or their own storefront, Aluo brings product-photo creation and routine image preparation into one web-based service. It can generate photos from prompts or reference images, remove backgrounds, and edit images, then handle common catalog tasks in batches. That range makes it a credible option for a small operation with varied image needs; a seller who only needs occasional background removal may find the broader workspace unnecessary.

Key features

Product-scene templates and background replacement help turn a plain product photo into a more composed visual. The canvas editor adds layers, typography, shadows, brand assets, templates, precise masking, color grading and instant preview. Those controls give sellers room to refine an image after generation, rather than relying on a single automated result. The trade-off is that users seeking a quick cutout may not benefit from the extra editing tools.

Batch processing covers resizing, enhancement, compression, watermarking, format conversion, rotation, lighting adjustments, filters and background removal. For sellers maintaining a catalog, applying routine changes to multiple images can save repetitive work. Aluo supports JPG, PNG, WebP and other common ecommerce formats. Its pricing page also includes watermark-free export and HD export at 2x, 4x and 8x among plan features.

AI work consumes credits: Aluo estimates that 2,000 credits can produce 52–111 generations depending on the model, or 333 background removals at Pro+ rates. The difference between those estimates matters for planning; generation-heavy workflows may use a balance much faster than background removal. Aluo says prompts and images go to model endpoints during inference, are not persisted there, and are not used for fine-tuning or retraining. Uploaded images are processed in the browser by default and are not permanently stored on Aluo’s servers, although generated outputs may be temporarily cached unless saved.

Pricing

The free plan is free, requires no credit card and includes five one-time credits. It is a low-friction way to try the service, but too small for ongoing catalog work. A free trial is also offered.

Monthly subscriptions provide a recurring credit allowance: PLUS costs 9.90 USD per month for 2,000 credits, PRO costs 19.90 USD per month for 5,000 credits, and MAX costs 39.90 USD per month for 12,000 credits. PLUS is the entry point for regular use; PRO and MAX provide larger balances for heavier workloads. The generation estimates make clear that the useful volume depends on the chosen model and task, so buyers should compare their expected mix of generations and background removals with the allowance.

Credit packs offer a different validity window. Small Pack costs 3.00 USD per month and supplies 500 credits valid for 12 months. Standard Pack costs 12.00 USD per month for 2,400 base credits plus 200 bonus credits, 2,600 total, valid for 12 months. Premium Pack costs 22.00 USD per once and includes 5,000 base credits plus 500 bonus credits, all AI features and instant delivery, with 12 months validity. These packs suit users who prefer credits valid across a year over a monthly subscription; the recurring monthly wording on Small and Standard is worth distinguishing from Premium’s one-time charge.

Aluo’s pricing page says payments are encrypted through Stripe and payment information is not stored on its servers. Support is offered through live chat or email, with a stated response within 24 hours.

Platforms

Aluo runs on the web, so sellers can use its image tools from a browser. API access is also listed. The service supports common ecommerce image formats, including JPG, PNG and WebP.

Who it's for

Aluo is best suited to online sellers who need to create, polish and process product imagery without a studio or full-time designer. Its canvas and batch tools are most useful when a shop has enough images to justify a repeatable workflow. It is less compelling for a narrow, occasional cutout task or for a seller whose expected AI use would quickly exceed the small free allowance.

Pros and cons

Pros: Generation, background removal, editing and batch operations sit in one web workspace, which can reduce tool switching for sellers preparing a catalog.
Pros: The canvas includes masking, layers, brand assets and color grading, providing more control than a one-step image operation.
Pros: Credit packs remain valid for 12 months, giving occasional users more time to use them than a short monthly allowance.
Cons: The free plan has just five one-time credits, limiting its value for sustained work.
Cons: Generation volume varies substantially by model, so a fixed credit balance does not translate to a single predictable number of finished images.
Cons: Generated outputs may be temporarily cached unless saved, a consideration for users handling sensitive product imagery.

Alternatives

For a broader platform choice, compare AI Background Generators or AI Photo Editors. Cutout.Pro is another freemium option with a free plan and support across web, mobile, desktop and API; its listed subscription starts at 5.00 USD per month for 80 credits. Pincel has a 20-credit free Starter plan and a 19.00 USD per month Creator plan with 1,000 credits each month, making it an alternative for buyers comparing free credits and recurring allowances. Claid offers a 50-credit free trial, including 50 API credits, and web and API access; its paid Essentials plan uses custom pricing. HueFold has a free plan and supports Android and web. Pacdora includes 50 AI credits, one workspace member and more than 3,000 dieline templates on its free plan, with generated images public. Phot.AI offers a free Starter plan with 500 credits per month, one listing, one seat, one marketplace account and 2 GB of cloud storage. LlamaGen.ai is a freemium option with 1,000 credits on its free plan and 15,000 credits per month on its 18.00 USD Standard plan. Pixelcut has a free plan with limited background removal and upscaling, plus watermark-free exports.

Verdict

Choose Aluo if you sell online and want product-photo generation, detailed canvas editing and batch preparation in one browser-based workspace. Its strongest reason to buy is that breadth, backed by monthly credit tiers and longer-validity packs. Look elsewhere if you need only occasional background removal, want a larger free allowance, or need generated outputs not to be temporarily cached unless saved.
