Overview

Animaze is avatar software for animating 2D and 3D characters in streams, calls and recordings. It is best for creators who want to import their own models and choose among several tracking methods. The broad workflow is appealing, but the plan limits and separate commercial licensing for business use deserve close attention.

Key features

Animaze accepts Live2D, VRM, Ready Player Me and Union Avatars models; artist guides also cover GLB/GLTF and FBX. Its PC Avatar Editor lets users import and test Live2D or 3D-tool creations, then export them for use in Animaze. That flexibility suits artists with an existing avatar pipeline, rather than only users who plan to rely on built-in content.

Tracking options include webcam and iPhone input, plus Leap Motion, audio-based lip trackers and Tobii eye trackers. Animaze also supports lip sync, hand and full-body tracking, virtual camera output, and recording. That combination can serve both expressive character animation and practical video output, though additional tracking hardware is relevant only to users prepared to add it to their setup.

Integrations span OBS, Streamlabs, Discord, Zoom, Google Meet, Twitch, YouTube and Facebook Gaming. Streamers can use it across broadcast platforms, while meeting integrations make it an option for calls as well. For developers, the Enterprise SDK provides cross-platform APIs for adding interactive characters to iOS, Android or PC apps; this is a specialized route rather than a reason for ordinary creators to choose an enterprise plan.

The EEA privacy policy says camera images and facial-tracking data are used at runtime and are not collected, recorded or stored by the company. Support includes an FAQ, documentation and contact support, while business plans include fast-track support.

Pricing

Animaze has a free plan and paid tiers. The stated entry price is $1.67/mo (annual), while the plan breakdown gives annual billing amounts for Plus and Pro; choose based on the feature or rights you need, not the entry figure alone.

Basic: Custom pricing is not given; the plan includes 80+ free items. It is the no-cost starting point, but does not promise the Plus features such as watermark removal or 60 FPS streaming.
Plus: 3.99 USD per month (billed $47.88/year shown). It removes the watermark and adds Animaze Original content, 60 FPS streaming, a dedicated capture window and MP4 export. This is the clearest fit for creators who want cleaner output and recording features without the Pro content allowance.
Pro: 9.99 USD per month (billed $119.88/year shown). Its editable Holotech Originals allowance is 2 avatars, 5 accessories, 2 backgrounds and 3 emotes. That cap matters to users who regularly customize Originals; it is less restrictive for people importing their own models.
Small Business: 499.99 USD per year (billed $499.99) for businesses generating less than $175,000. It includes fast-track support, watermark removal, 60 FPS, MP4 export and paid content access. 2D avatars require a separate Live2D commercial license, so the plan price alone does not cover that licensing need.
Business Plus: 1699.99 USD per year (billed $1699.99) for businesses generating more than $175,000. It has the same stated features and separate Live2D license requirement as Small Business, with the higher revenue threshold defining its audience.
Enterprise: Custom pricing. It offers a tailored company solution, commercial rights, IP protection tools, bespoke engineering and the SDK. This is the relevant tier for app integration or enterprise-specific requirements, rather than a standard creator subscription.

The commercial terms differ by audience: Pro lists commercial rights for streamers earning $6,000 per year, while business plans require a separate Live2D commercial license for 2D avatars. Businesses should account for that separate license before committing.

Platforms

Animaze is available on Android, iOS and Windows, and its platform listing includes API access. The Enterprise SDK specifically targets iOS, Android and PC apps.

Who it's for

Animaze suits streamers, YouTubers, VTubers, artists and other creatives who want imported avatars, multiple tracking options and support for both broadcast and meeting software. Businesses can use the business tiers for commercial content and support, while developers considering character features inside their own apps should look at Enterprise. It is a poorer fit for businesses using 2D avatars if a separate Live2D commercial license does not suit their budget or workflow.

Pros and cons

Pro: Broad import support, including Live2D and several 3D formats, gives creators with existing assets a flexible path into the software.
Pro: Webcam and iPhone tracking, with optional specialist trackers, accommodate different tracking setups.
Pro: Streaming and meeting integrations make the avatar workflow useful beyond a single broadcast destination.
Con: Pro limits editable Holotech Originals content to 2 avatars, 5 accessories, 2 backgrounds and 3 emotes, which can constrain users who frequently customize that content.
Con: Business plans do not include the separate Live2D commercial license required for 2D avatars.
Con: The business tiers cost substantially more than creator plans, so their fast-track support and paid content access are most relevant to organizations with commercial needs.

Alternatives

For a free public option, consider XR Animator. nizima LIVE is another freemium alternative; its free plan allows 40 minutes of continuous camera use and displays a logo. veadotube offers a free mini version across Windows, Linux and macOS. If Live2D models, webcam or smartphone tracking, and voice-based lip sync are the priorities, VTube Studio has those features on its free plan.

Webcam Motion Capture lets users try all tracking features for free. Warudo is free for personal use on Windows, with commercial use requiring contact with the developer. VTuber Maker is a free Windows option with in-app purchases. For PNG avatar customization and sprite sheets, PNGTuber Plus is free, with optional support payments.

Verdict

Animaze is a strong choice for creators who need imported 2D or 3D avatars, varied tracking options and a workflow spanning streams, calls and recordings. Its strongest reason to choose it is that breadth; the main reason to look elsewhere is the price and licensing complexity for commercial use, especially the extra Live2D license required by business plans.
