Overview

G-Menu brings monitor profiles, DDC/CI control and gaming-peripheral customization into one utility. Keyboard macros and mouse sensitivity adjustments make it broader than a monitor control panel, a useful distinction for an AOC setup that includes compatible input devices. Its reach is also its main constraint: the interface only offers connected, supported devices, so it is not a general manager for mixed-brand gear.

Players can save multiple game profiles and switch between them. A profile can also be associated with an executable so the application runs when that profile is selected. Discover lets users create and share gamer profiles, shortcuts and color schemes, and find settings shared by other players. These options matter most to people who regularly switch games or prefer to reuse other players’ configurations.

Key features

Device settings and lighting

Light FX provides controls for effects, colors, pulsation and brightness. Light FX Sync coordinates RGB effects across compatible devices, which helps keep an AOC gaming setup visually consistent. The sync is limited to compatible equipment, and settings remain tied to connected devices; users looking for broad hardware coverage should look elsewhere.

Macros, profiles and updates

The Macro interface supports recording, editing, importing and exporting macros, giving users more than a basic on/off toggle for keyboard automation. Profiles add game-by-game switching, while the executable association can launch the linked application when its profile is selected. G-Menu checks for software updates on its home page and downloads available updates in the background, but it cannot detect updates without a network connection.

Pricing

G-Menu is free: the G-Menu plan is free for supported AOC devices. There are no paid tiers to compare, making it a straightforward choice for owners of compatible hardware who want these controls without a software charge. The trade-off is that the free plan is not a route to broader device compatibility: its controls remain limited to supported connected AOC equipment.

Platforms

G-Menu is available for Windows. AOC’s manual gives Windows 7 or above, 500 MB of free disk space and an internet connection as requirements. The connection is needed for update detection; without it, G-Menu cannot check for software updates. AOC provides a Windows download and a downloadable manual on its product page.

Who it's for

Choose G-Menu if you use supported AOC monitors or gaming peripherals and want to keep monitor settings, lighting, macros and game profiles together. It is particularly relevant to players who switch profiles between games or want to share and reuse configurations through Discover. It is not the right fit for Mac or Linux users, or for anyone who needs to configure devices that are unsupported or not connected.

Pros and cons

Pro: Combines monitor profiles and DDC/CI control with peripheral settings, macros and RGB lighting, so compatible AOC gear can be managed in one place.
Pro: Game profiles, executable association and Discover support switching, launching and sharing configurations for different games.
Con: Works only on Windows and only with supported devices connected in the interface, limiting its use for other platforms and mixed-brand setups.
Con: Update checks require an internet connection, so offline users cannot detect available software updates.

Alternatives

For a different monitor-control focus or platform, consider these options:

Twinkle Tray is a free Windows option for Windows 10 and 11 that supports most laptops and DDC/CI-enabled monitors; choose it if that monitor-focused coverage suits your setup better than G-Menu’s supported AOC-device approach.
Lunar is a freemium macOS option with a free plan and trial; choose it if you need monitor control on a Mac.
BetterDisplay is a freemium macOS option with a free plan and trial; its Pro license costs 21.99 USD per once and includes at least one year of updates for covered versions. Choose it if you want its Pro features on macOS.
Monitor Brightness Control is a free Linux tool that requires a DDC/CI-compatible monitor and I2C access; choose it if that matches your Linux setup.
DDCcontrol is free software for Linux; choose it if you need a Linux option.
ddcutil is free Linux software under GPLv2; choose it if you want that licensing and platform combination.
Monitor Switch is free, MIT-licensed open-source software described as usable but not yet released, and requires a Raspberry Pi.
ASUS DisplayWidget Center is a free Windows and macOS download for compatible ASUS monitors; choose it if you use supported ASUS hardware instead.

Browse Monitor Control Software or Gaming Peripheral Software for more options.

Verdict

G-Menu is a sensible free choice for Windows players building around supported AOC equipment: its main advantage is bringing monitor, lighting, macro and game-profile controls together. Look elsewhere if you need another operating system, want to manage unconnected or non-AOC gear, or need update checks while offline.
